Wide spectrum non-polar solvents

the following gem is from Benzyme, in this thread:

"there is no specificity as far as what hexane or heptane will pull, both will pull the same compounds.
VM&P contains both, as well as octane and nonane. may as well save the Bestine for re-x
better yet, get some methylene chloride. its toxicity is often exaggerated, but its ability to pull alks trumps all other solvents (except the more toxic chloroform)."

Well I don't know where I can find methylene chloride around where I live.
And is chloroform a non-polar? I didn't think it was.

I can get heptane but I find it pulls very white crystalline stuff. So I think a lot get left in the bark solution.

And I can get Coleman fuel.

I'll check out the other thread, thanx.
