will ether/hexanes starter fluid extract well at 25'C

not wanting to heat ether...is this a viable option?
ether will evaporate more quickly than the hexanes, leaving an enriched hexanes soluton ready to freeze-precip, or possibly reduce further then freeze
is there any reason this wouldnt work?
