Wish LB luck

LB tells me he just swallowed a capsule of 100 mg of his own first-time, hand made cactus-extract.HCl @ 9:00 a.m. PST. (GULP) This in following with the idea of starting low to see what one has.

It was recrystallized with IPA/acetone, and very pearly light colored and delicate looking, so LB suspects that it will be nearly all mescaline (maybe this was a mistake to wash it that much, but it was pretty orangy with excess HCl before the reX). The extraction was of the STB/CaOH guacamole/d-limonene/HCl stripe. The reX'd product dried in the coffee filter as a paper thin layer (in most places), so it looks like fine, pearly rice parchment paper. Very elegant.

LB fervently hopes that this product will be a lot nicer than the only other mescaline he's ever had, which was some lab-synthed stuff that for some reason (@ 330 mg) felt like powerful speed to him, very uncomfortable with almost no visuals or mood lift. So this extracted mesc is sort of mesc's chance to show him it can play nicely. Of course, at 100 mg it will probably only provide a twinkle, which is okay. If the twinkle feels good, then he will assume that more may also be good.

Things seem to be just how they should... LB says that the 100 mg produced a nice threshold effect, very mild yet very noticeable. Very mild visual enhancement, and the familiar shivery, yawny phenethylamine come-up feeling was evident @ 2 hours after ingestion. Very slight "attitude adjustment" as well. So far so good. Now LB could feel comfortable taking say 200 next time, and in fact that may be all that is required, based on what 100 did.

Because while it's just threshold at 100, he says somehow it feels "significant" at the same time... hard to explain...

LB knew he had done the extraction and purification well, it's just that you have to test, you know, to know for sure what you have and all.

BTW, as a trivial aside, the source cactus was a mix of three different things (therefore not much of hope of knowing what's what), two of which were probably pretty lame "Pachanots", but the vast majority of the material was from the third, a T. pachanoi var. Juul's Giant LB has. That was 'probably' the one that contributed most of the alks. This plant seems to have that "it girl" factor... pretty, plump, perfectly colored and that mystical glow about it.

I'll post pics of it soon, and we can see if you guys see "it" too.

Another interesting note was that some musculoskeletal relaxation kicked in at about the 5-hour point.

Could it have been a mystery alkaloid that survived the great flood of IPA and acetone? We'll never know...
