yeild problem please help

Swim made and extraction with 50g powdered rootbark put 4 jars in frezer over night took them out poured out naptha and the yeild looked relly good set them to dry out came back to check them out and barley any was left in there it looked almost as If it shrunk or completly lost all of it what could have possably happined???

So basicly when jars were taken out of freezer Somme naptha was still left in the jars so the naptha melted the crystals

Even if it desolved I dident have much naptha in the jar after finding crystals no being there anymore So instill kinda confused about what happined any help ?

check the FAQ's friend. Read up on the specific tek you were using, about the problem you were having.

I'm having a hard time understanding everything about what you're saying without all the details.

But 50g of root bark is not an overly large amount, 448g yields about 3g of dmt. So with one ninth of that you should be expecting maybe like .2g-.3g or so. So there wouldn't be a lot of crystals.

Naptha doesn't dissolve the crystals? The crystals form in the naptha. I have no idea what other steps you'd been taking before this. Jars are used in numerous different ways throughout the steps of various teks...

There should be naptha left after the freeze precip, the crystals should have formed in it. Freeze precip can take some serious time, and depending on the amount of naptha you originally used for your pull, you may need to evap it a little bit before the freeze. After freeze you should see some crystals in your jar, and then after pouring the naptha through a coffee filter to decant. Then dry the jar out in front of a fan before scraping. You may in the future want to use a pyrex dish instead of a jar, as its easier to scrape.

This was swims4th extraction using Normans tek it looked like a great yeild then he put most naptha in jar and put jars back into a box to evap the rest came back to cheack4 hours later and most of the yeild was gone like90% and naptha was some how there was shot of it there when c clearly he put most of it in the jar

The DMT doesnt just dissapear... If it was there, its there, unless you threw it away. It just seems less as goo than crystals. As the FAQ says, use small amount of naphtha to redissolve the goo that formed and freeze again.

Thanks for the help dude ,dose the goo look a tanish coler? And I read every part of the faqs already, this was one of the weirdest things of any extraction yet if the goo was tan then I think that's what happined Cuzz know something odd happined with my yeild

yeah it can be tan. Its usually a mixture of DMT and other impurities, recrystallizing it works great, the FAQ instructions work

Then thats good and badd good part is knowledge bad part is I poured all the goo out :/

Yep, never throw anything away before you're done and happy with your final yield. It can always be recovered if you dont throw it away. That's a lesson some have to learn the hard way..

I had a similar experience several years ago. I ended up figuring out that some water drops were actually present on my jar. The water droplets sink to the bottom of the NAPTHA/SHELLITE, then freeze into what look just like DMT crytals... Water crystals. If you didn't take care to properly dry your jar before adding your loaded solvent this may be where your "vanishing" crystals actually went. Once the ice crystals melt they evaporate fairly quickly and you may not have ever seen the problem. If you know for a fact that your glassware was dry then I dont know what went wrong. IME this is the only way i know of to end up experiencing what you did. Be sure to dry your glassware(jars AND turkey baster/pipettes).
