Ive been without electrical service for a month and a half. I have had to adapt to my situation. But I have been able to successfully heat acid baths at slightly lower temps (90'-115') for about 8 hours at a t I me meanwhile keeping UV rays out of my jars using black trash bags. Anyone done anything like that?

He's suggesting you use that tek which doesn't require a heatsource.
I've done an extraction with a home-made Milo tin stove and methylated spirits as a fuel source... it's really cool and not hard to make.

If you want to use solar then do it right. Do not put the extraction in the sun. Connect at least a 100 watt panel to a charge controller hooked to a battery. Then, use the battery to power a 12v heating element (or to an inverter to run 120v element). This is the most practical use of solar energy in an extraction... but expensive.
Otherwise, use a tek that does not require a heat source.

You could just acid soak for a week swirling vessel (or even mashing if its bark in a pan) regularly then basify and let stand for a couple of hours.
Pull with naptha reduce down in the open air and freeze precip. Will use more NPS but just replace heat with longer standing times.

I assumed it would work the same way sun tea works. As in you put your bark or material in acidic solution, preferably in a glass container. Wrap said container in a dark material that doesnt allow UV rays to pass through it and let it bake for a day or two or three. Meanwhile shaking the jar periodically throughout the "sun baking period". I understand you dont need a heat source to extract. All I was proposing was just as I said above: a "sun tea" method of a heated acid solution soak. I dont know maybe im crazy but im also from the southern part of the USA and we drink sun tea here. I meant to use as little energy outside of DIRECT solar energy/heat as possible. Thats all. I appreciate everyones input nonetheless and eagerly await any comments or suggestions/criticism as well. You want to avoid using a black trash bag, not much UV protection, making the best material to block light tin foil. If you wrap the jar with foil, none of that UV light will enter the bottle thus becoming trapped.
tl;dr You will basically end up with a jar about the same temperature as the ambient.
[Also, doesn't this expose your illegal extraction to the outside? Legally risky as well.]

Aha! I see now that the black trash bag is a bad choice. I was just trying to get some dialogue going I guess. Mylar tho? VERY interesting idea! And yes where I live nobody pays anybody any attention. Almost everyone here either grows, makes wine or distills moonshine or something along those lines. Imagine a world where one could CONSISTANTLY extract say phalaris spp. and do it using only the endless rays of the sun? Beautiful thought...I think.

You don't need a heat source though. I don't understand your fixation on the sun. You could do an extraction in an underground bunker without any power source and yield just fine. This is what a1pha was trying to present you with earlier.
