1kg MHRB extraction low yield. Help!

I got a kg of high quality Mhrb and I have only yielded about 4-5 gs of finished spice. I have done this extraction numerous times before but this time I’m not getting anywhere close to my usual or avg end result. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?? Many thanks and I appreciate your help friends!

Back in the day I did 100g MHRB extraction and got a lot of g. Now, a few years later, I used one of the teks on this forum. It was quite similar in nature. I used 50g and got 0.070mg.

Yeah I’m just kinda dumbfounded by the small yield thus far.. I didn’t do anything different than I have any time before. Froze my mhrb then thawed it then froze it again then thawed. Then heated on low in crockpot for an hr. Poured into my erlinmeyer flask then slowly added my lye until mixed thoroughly. Then added my v&m nps and gently stirred it 4 times per hour for a few hrs then finally went to the freezer.

I know that the root bark is of the utmost high quality so that’s not a thought in my mind. Has me stumped right now!!

As a comparison, I recently got 4.142g out of approx 250g MHRB. I did do quite a slow extraction though, had to solve emulsion problems etc but it all worked out in the end.
Multiple acid wetted Freeze Thaw cycles, and Slow cooker for 8 hours before basing it, left it on the base for multiple days before adding Naphtha.

You can't really know that before extracting. That other batches with the same origin were potent doesn't necessarily mean that this one was. Either you did something differently or the bark is not potent. You say that you did everything exactly the same (what did you do? How much are you controlling the conditions and measurements of what you're doing?), so then the most likely explanation is that the bark is not potent this time.

If you have been doing a single pull so far, do more. If you get still a significant amount in a second pull, the problem is most likely technique. If not, it will most likely be the bark.
