a/b question, input appreciated.

Hey guys SWIM is currently doing an a/b on acacia floribunda bark he has done the acid process and has realized he has no solvent for the end. So he has asked, would it be more effective to leave the bark in acid soak for a longer period of time or bastify and let it sit?
SWIM has heard lye breaks down cell walls, and guessea the acid does not, at least not as much.
He is not defatting this time due to lack of solvent obviously and he has never have tried acacia without defatting so something new.

Both are fine. Leaving in acid for too long time can mean it starts to ferment, but then you'd just boil it again to remove alcohol and proceed to basify/extract.

Leaving in base for too long, if it's lye, has the danger of etching the glass container it is in (considering its in glass), so might risk an accident there. Otherwise, all is fine.

I would love to show you all the results!
Naptha was found laying around in the end, although no defat and no removal of plant material was done.
Tried freeze precip for a bit with nothing so it was evapped over a couple of days, leaving a very fine slightly off coloured powder of which was scraped and then thrown out.
Did not smell of tryptamine like it had while evaping towards the end.



..... its a sad sight.
