You know what? Every time I read a trip report on Erowid or whatever and someone is like, "+ 2:30 - Me and my lady decided to go trip balls by ourselves and got naked and had a marvelous relationship building time," I sort of go, "god damn it."

I have had plenty of girlfriends, I have had a number of girlfriends who were willing to smoke weed, I had one girlfriend who actually tripped and rolled, but, for all intents and purposes, the main issue presented was that she turned into a pumpkin hours and hours before I did, so I was often just finishing a trip or rolling by myself.

There is something fantastic in dreaming of having an intellectual counterpart who was explorative and interested in experiences outside of the realm of every day thought.

I think perhaps I am being kind of picky, but at the same time, I'm kind of old and am looking to settle down. But, by settle down, I mean settle into a life of spiritual and psych-emotional exploration with and without chemicals.

I feel like there should be a dating site for heady people. OKC and POF are for custies.

Where is my super heady soul mate, brah?

Do a lot of people reading this have Sig Oths who trip? There's also something hot about getting your super straight girlfriend to roll nutsack.

Relationships are a helluva drug.
 
I've had a girlfriend that was very affraid of psychedelics and would give me a hard time for wanting to use them.. That didn't work out. I've had a couple of girlfriends that didn't know much about psychedelics they started being interested and ended up loving it. That worked out well :D

The way I feel it, it doesn't matter much if they don't do it, as long as they totally accept you do it.




In OKC there are questions regarding psychedelics you can filter by..
Or try meeting in summer festivals or through a related hobby.

I am a female tripper (happily taken, so keep lookin ::d ) and I feel for you men who want a lady to explore with. If psychedelics are a big part of your life, it's a big area to compromise.

I've clearly noticed females are a statistical anomaly on these forums, but noticed about as many women as men at festivals and psy trance shows. I always wondered why there was such a huge difference between those arenas.

Then I joined the females group of Acidmath (a Facebook psychedelic group....I know, I know) and I found the answer I think. Posts about psychedelics and female psychonauts went largely ignored, while posts for relationship advice and other non-tripper stuff was the whole page. I left the group when it became apparent being there was a community thing more than a serious explorer thing.
 
My last gf did not even smoke cannabis nor tobacco, it caused her severe anxiety. As for me, I enjoyed a joint at the end of a day and also very much enjoyed exploring myself and my surroundings through psychedelics. My gf never did trip with me but she loved being with me while i tripped since we already had a strong bond, everything was greatly intensified for both of us.

I feel as if you have to make sure your girl is comfortable with herself and you to greatest extent possible, for you to be trusted with opening doors together with her that may be very foreign to your her.

Approach the situation with good intent and make sure to familiarize your partner with whatever psychedelic you are experimenting with before even asking your partner to trip with you.

You know, sometimes you just have to wade through a sea of incompatibility before you find someone worthwhile. Before I met the wonderful lady I am with today, I had a good handful of girls who absolutely despised anything drug related, among other things.

Strangely enough, I fought for those relationships, thinking that even though we had major differences, it would somehow work itself out. The problem was that neither one of us (in any of the "bad" relationships) were willing to change drastically for each other. We made promises we never intended to keep and a relationship, a good one anyway, cannot function properly in such a manner.

I realized later that it is best to be completely open and that people should love each other for who they are, not for who they want them to be...or for who they may change into later. Don't get me wrong, change is part of the equation and always will be but there is nothing more beautiful than being able to develop and change together.

That is why my other relationships fell by the wayside, well, at least part of the reason(s). The girls I left behind never respected me as a fellow human being and sometimes I did the same to them. In a turbulent relationship, it happens and we throw our hands in the air and yell, "why? why? why?"
I would always ask myself if it was worth it, and 9/10 times I would say, "of course it is! what a stupid question!"

But on that 10th time, I'd be telling myself what I already knew...we were wrong for each other. That is life sometimes.

**I should probably add that these relationships were not only broken down because of drugs or the acceptance of using them, that was just part of the disagreement(s).**

But onto the pressing matter, I've never had a girl that was as into psychedelics as I am until about 3 years ago, come July. I never would have dreamed it were possible due to my history with women. All I really want to say is don't give up hope, always keep looking for that someone special as cliche as that always is...and if you have to build and wreck a relationship or two or five to find the right one, well, sometimes that is necessary. It is never easy but worth it in the end, IME!

I am being 50+% facetious, I think that desiring a specific lifestyle trait as tripping ballsack or even smoking ganja once a week is too much of a pigeon hole.

I know about the okcupid option for "does drugs all the time and winds up in bus station bathrooms overdosing" and "Nope, never saw a person who knew anyone who had a cousin who got high," but I didn't see specifics. It would be rad if it was just a list of every chemical ever and you just check the ones you want.

those of us with grow labs, can expect to get beat up on the forums.
not all of us can take it, and dole it out, with the zeal i have.

also the education for women in sciences is abysmal.........

and the "kid factor" mows most of us down in our 20's also.

alot of us are " owned " in some way also,
not all of our masters allow for a mad science-ette lover.

and , finally, it takes time to be a psyche master.
unless your the "idle over educated and well funded with nothing better to do type" like me,
who has the time?

I have the opposite issue....only two of the men I ever dated liked psychedelics and I know one only tried them because of me.

Many girls on this forum choose to be asexual or unknown on an online forum for many reasons.

Chat seems to have its share of girls I have found-none of which really want to be hit on here :!:

Does taking psychedelics really play that large of a part in a relationship to you? What if for medical reasons they have to stop or choose to?! Everything changes
 
No, it's not important to an actual relationship. Love is the only important thing in a relationship. Unconditional acceptance.

But, I do wish to be close to someone who understands the ineffable qualities in life beyond the normal perceptions of space time offered by our limited psycho-social abilities in a matrix as large as the universe.

I feel those things when not involved with chemicals. I have a love and zeal for life. I think it's kind of like...

I don't have a family. I don't have a "homestead" where I grew up, I don't have a family dinner table, I don't have family.

So, instead of taking a trip back to the farm, I would rather share a trip to inner space and reach for something ethereally familiar and elusive.

I'm "old" (to me!) and I want to settle down, and I have chased so many meaningless ends to a lack of love, and I realize things I didn't think I ever would.

So, you know, after like a year of being single on purpose, I am like "Hey, God, it's me, Swim" ;)

I do feel pretty honored that women are on this thread and talking. Your perspective is super welcome and appreciated. I'm not desperate for anything. I have everything I need, you know? I've searched the shit out of my soul and meditated the shit out of some... non thoughts, and I've climbed mountains and raved face and made people jump around in warehouses and never been arrested nor made a baby. I'm a candidate for boyfriendom. MY APARTMENT SMELLS OF RICH MAHOGANY. I HAVE MANY LEATHER BOUND BOOKS.

Personally, I was married for 10 years to someone who was not anti-psychedelic, but really hadn't been into it since young adulthood. He supported my little experiments and my overwhelming garden, and I thought that was good enough. It was good enough, really. The relationship was deteriorated from a million other breaches of trust and the psychs had nothing to do with the end of it. I would have happily continued tripping alone if the rest was golden.

Now I have a partner who loves psychedelics as much as I do (which is a lot- it is my primary hobby and fascination). We trip together about every two weeks, and the sacred spaces we find are amazingly beautiful experiences that bring us closer and closer. I never would have known what I was missing had I not found it. Sasha and Ann Shulgin were on to something. :p

Anne, I'm not sure I agree with all of your reasons about women not being on the forum. I get where you're coming from, but if no kids, good education, idle time and overfunding were prerequisites for forum attendance, this would be one empty place both men and women. I have a theory that these forums attract introverts in much higher proportion than the normal population, since it's a way to have community without leaving your comfort zone, but I don't know how gender factors into that.

Finally, BIGblueEMBRYO, tread lightly with putting yourself out there. All of your posts have been lighthearted and humorous, not offensive or anything, but this really isn't the right place to look for a girlfriend. There are likely people who would get upset if you pushed the issue even a little bit.

Dude, the Shulgin couple is exactly what I'm talking about as a model for what I think would be a fulfilling relationship. Clinical understanding, spiritual and psychological integration capabilities, subjective comparisons, and the host of close times that would possibly arise from these experiences.

I am sorry that that is what you took from this, but, this thread is in no way related to me looking for a date on the DMT-Nexus. I felt the inclusion of women (including you with the above quote) in the thread was a really positive thing and lent credence to the validity in the core message of lamenting not being able to find a female trip partner in my real life. I was being absolutely facetious about anything over the top, and, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I stated I was joking wherever there was something I was making a farce. Women have shared their side of relationship stories where they did or did not have a tripper partner, and it has been more enlightening then just sitting around contemplating.

I honor your thoughts on the thread, I think that relationships are a part of our set and setting, and having a significant other be a worthwhile trip sitter would be undeniably bad ass (maybe until the relationship swasn't badass anymore!)

i tend to generalize sometimes.
those factors are what slows down my " all girl ops",
its impossible to get good help these days.
and if ya do ,they last 2-3 yrs tops.

^ not much considering they take at least a yr to train.

my second husband, smoked pot constantly, but rarely tripped.
he just viewed the grow as a girls club thing .

for security reasons, i dont make contact with anyone on the forums ever personally.

the only forum personality i would consider dating would be sheekle of the shroomery fame.


also consider this, tripping grrlz, are not all equal.
the other hippie girls usually hate me on sight.
yes im all about hallucinogens and pot 100%,
but i come off more like a coca cowgirl.
ill show up with a gucci purse, choo shoes, ray bans, and bodyguards.
also i wash my hair, and never wear prints, only solid colors.
the hippie girls also, dont get my maid AT ALL,
but, the guys find her amusing fer sure.

so seriously, dating me is not dating a hippie girl.
its more like dating Elvira Hancock.........on acid.

also, i prefer combat vets with medals for dates,
and, pretty much demand an advanced degree....................
 
Go to any hippy party.... Or an EDM or jam band type show.... Plenty of girls into psychedelics there.

Some of my best memories with my wife are hiking out a few days into the forest and eating some mushrooms or San Pedro.... Great way to get closer together and share deep moments of heart felt connection.

I actually spent years playing raves and festies and being a psychotropic bulldozer. It was awesome.
I met plenty of girls through all that time, but for various reasons, I couldn't get into productive relationships even though I was surrounded by all of the ladies and all of the chakras with the peter pan outfits and the burning man and the yoga mats and skrillex haircuts.
I kind of woke up to empathy and sharing for the first time recently, and that bacon and lasers life isn't surrounding me anymore. I moved away from the Pacific Ocean (always a bad move), and now I'm just a free agent all like "hi craigslist its me, swim. i have novel compounds and require third party perspective."
But at the same time, being single has been the best thing to ever happen to me, so I'm not complaining. I just watched Die Hard on repeat. All day. So, shut the front door, man.
 
the irony is,
hippies may not be the best dates for the serious psychonaut.

i noticed as a teen, most hippies guys consume drugs,
but few actually add to the pile.

i have an "ayn" rand attitude on all this fer sure.
theres makers and takers....
i dont need a guy bumming money for trips.

i also demand from guys the same level of " clean"
i expect from my maid.
i cant have dudes contaminating the lab stuff with fleas, lice, mites,
or general filth.

hippies guys tend to be communists also.
there is no communism in the girls room (lab)
i simply rule. period.
first time a hippie guy raided my lab,
there would be casualties.

Guess it depends what kind you seem to attract into your space? Hippies I know always bring lots of every kind of drug wherever they go and shower just as much as everyone else.... They just like to dress funny and dance a lot.

Hippy Crews are ruthless. Shady hippies are on some Thinner shit. They'll be cool to you, break into your car, steal your stash and be at the next String Cheese show to buy a heady cosmic wrap and get in a fight about past grow op beef.

I'd rather get neutron bomb level weird with everyday people, too many wallets gone missing in yerts at shows, mate.

My girlfriend does not take psychedelics with me. Cannabis she does sometimes with met. I think the most important aspect is to understand and accept each other. In the beginning I had quite some difficulties that I couldn't share the psychedelic experiences with her and she had quite some difficulties with me taking drugs. But now I understand and accept her point of view and know the reasons she does not take it, and vice versa. Sure I'd like to try a session with her, but it should come from her and not being forced by me.

Just be honest, open and patient. Tell her (him) your experiences and reasons for doing it without any pressure whatsoever to try and they'll slowly come round.
