Whats up guys.

SO I have a buddy thats stayin over by me for the night to hang out an what have you.

We are drinkers so thats our thing when we hang out. We will probably sit around listen to tunes and chill out.

My question is this...

He isnt necessarily "experienced" in psychs but he has done lsd 2 or 3 times over a period of probably 4 years and shrooms twice I believe over the same time....

He doesnt like weed cuz it fucks with his head and makes him anxious and paranoid ad what have you...

He never wants to touch psychs because he has a huge problem (he explained all of this to me) "letting go" he just cant go with the flow of tripping and thinks everyone around him is "out to get him" in a sense and feels very anxious around lots of people and what not, specially when under psychs... I always am trying to help him break free of those chains of feeling that way because it quite honestly sounds miserable.

He knows everything I do and what have you and is totally down to talk all about with me, BUT HE WILL NOT DO ANY OF IT anymore. He just cant get comfortable and convinces himself he will be if he takes shrooms or anything...

He is VERY intrigued by DMT. He knows as much as I have told him about it and whatever research (hes said he has done) hes done.

But he wont do it and says he cant and wont... But there are times where he sometimes seems little more curious and what have you....

I want to try and see if I can get him to commit to a session tonight.

We are out in the country and a huge yard, nature everywhere. (mind you hes a couch potato and nature probably matters more to me O.o)

Probably can have a nice fire and what have you..

How do I got about easing him into this and finally giving it a shot... I feel like anything DMT would be a good thing for him based on his anxiety issues and what not on other drugs and even sober with crowds and whatever.

The fast onset and rush and short trip seems like the perfect thing and thats also what kind of intrigues him...

Could this possibly help him break free of those chains of not being able to let go and what not? The worst thing that could happen is he doesnt enjoy it right? and hes sober within 30 minutes... We would be working with very clean DMT.

Also how do I go about this tonight then? just let him ride it out and decide for himself I suppose?

Your intentions are sound
BUT His mind set is not right...don't force it...
Set and setting is EVERYTHING! You should know that.

If he gets hyperslapped due to anxiety you will lose your friend.
Let it unfold naturally.
He will come to you when he's ready.😉

Thats kind of what I figured...

I fully understand it has to come naturally, but sometimes you just gotta get some more advice:p

Thanks for the response.

I used to feel just like your friend...
Havn't touched weed for 20 years precisely because of this.
If someone had dosed me back then, I could have freaked big time...
He will know when its right...even if its 10 years later..
Have fun and be safe 😁

JustShrooMinn,

I have known many people like your friend, they will listen to the trip stories all day long, they seem interested but not when it comes down to trying it. At some times they seem more interested, like they are considering it but... they generally never actually go through with it. The phrase "you can lead a horse to water" applies very much to DMT.

Also, it's just my opinion but based on my personal experience, the whole idea of "bringing a friend" is highly overrated and can lead to unforeseen and undesirable situations that can be very complicated at times.

My current philosophy is..I tell no one unless the UNIVERSE is just screaming at me to tell a certain person about it.

Hmm well the conventional wisdom regarding set and setting is usually all that needs to be said in situations like these, but I have a question for the Nexus that might deserve it's own thread but is certainly applicable to this one...

I highly value the psychedelic experience, and I know beyond any reasonable doubt that it could benefit a great many of my friends, family, and otherwise complete strangers who I will never meet. For individuals who are inexperienced, there can be a lot of hesitation, resistance, and downright denial to the experience even though he or she might be comfortable talking about it or they express an interest. So let's group the psychedelic experience in with the lot of other important and transformative life experiences that there are to be had and answer the following question: is it always "wrong" to push the psychedelic experience on someone? Because while it certainly can be, and good does not always come out of forcing someone to do something that he or she is not fully committed to, good does sometimes come out of it. I think we can all agree that there have been times in our lives when frankly we did not want to do something but ended up doing it and were rewarded for doing so. Additionally, sometimes you NEED someone else to encourage and push you forward, because goodness knows that some people are more stubborn than a mule and aren't good at making decisions. I'm not a believer in telling others how to live--I'm certainly not perfect--but a lot of people WANT to be told how to live and instead of preaching the Word of God maybe telling those people to smoke DMT instead would be a good thing, no? If you leave it to your friend to decide for himself, guess what? He might never go through with it. Knowing what you know now about DMT, wouldn't you be thankful to a friend for turning you onto that experience and encouraging you take a leap of faith when you were in doubt?

I'm not suggesting that you force your friend to smoke DMT, but I'm approaching the set and setting argument from another angle because that's how I think. I like to consider the different possibilities. It's something that I've thought about in the past and I'm almost certain that someone else has had the same thoughts.

Whatever you do,

It MUST be completely your friend's decision. Pressuring your friend would be unwise.........

I completely understand that you may want to share this incredible substance with your friend, however, it needs to be their decision, solely.

My opinion only.

Hi, I'm the same way with weed, i get overly sensitive and start to panic about certain things my heart starts to race and i feel like weed is a psychedelic for me in an emotional way but never really helps me push through all of it because of the intense fear i feel wash over me every time i try it. I will say this though, if your friend ever wants a good, soft, mellow, fun, comfortable, social trip that just flows without thinking to hard would recommend san pedro cactus. It's the only thing iv'e found that i NEVER have had a panic attack or anxiety with (iv'e only done it 2 times though) and feels soooo good in your body & mind that it would be REALLY hard to have a "bad" trip. BUT iv'e only taken about 25 grams each time which is a lower dose - 50 is a strong dose - it's a very fun and comfortable experience, and let me tell if i can do San pedro without have panic attacks or getting anxiety, ANYONE can! I'm very serious about that! but not promising anything b-cuz everyone can be different. A stronger dose would probably be better for letting go for a longer period of time of coarse but i would start low if he was to do this.

As for dmt Iv'e been wanting to do dmt for years and have always cowarded down when the time came, so i decided that i will make some changa because it sounds more appealing to me & easier to integrate what happens and seems to be more positive from all the reviews iv'e read about it but who knows it's all a personal thing anyways. Iv'e already been microdosing on some b caapi the past couple of days, hoping to clear my conscious and set my intentions for my changa trip in the near future, caapi definetly helps with depression and gives me some super cool dreams and i love it.

But whatever you and your friend decide to do, i wish ya'll both luck and happy journeys! Peace
