a question about a dry tek

Hi,

I read a tek on the nexus which was a dry tek and uses to acid whatsoever.

It's basically, you mix an even amount of pickling lime with MHRB or ACRB powder, then add water to make a paste, let sit for a while, then pour in your NP solvent which in this case is D-limonene, stir it around, then pour off the limonene and evaporate it to yeild waxy crystals.
Is this a valid technique?
I've never tried it, but am thinking about it.

Evaporating limonene is basically out of the question. It will take forever and still leave a residue.

Limonene needs to be backsalted with vinegar or some other acid. If you then want freebase you'd have to use some other method to re-base the acetate and recover the alkaloid.

The method with pickling lime should work with naphtha too, in which case you can freeze precipitate.
