I want to start to extract dmt from acacia acuminata. It's the first time and looking forward to be on this journey. I have done some research and I have a few things still confusing. Please help me on this journey
- i understand that as a sustainable point of view, root is not good. But for a beginner, is there a difference extracting roots or branches? Which one is easier?
- I wanted to follow this tek to extract dmt. GordoTEK DMT Extraction TEK. Is this what you guys would recommend? Or is there a better/easier one?

Extracting from phyllodes is fine and more sustainable. As the phyllodes are technically extension of the bark it'll be fine. You won't see much difference in yeild vs root bark either. Phyllodes are easy to work with.

That tek should be fine. Just becareful with emulsion issues with acuminata. If this happens just add more lye but he excess lye may likely reduce you chances of clean crystals.

Thank you for your help. Appreciate a lot.
If i cook 100g of bark compared to 100g of phyllodes, will i get same yield? Just to know what to expect and if I am on the right track.

By adding lye to get rid of excess oil, will i loose potency even though the crystals are not too clean?

You should get a similar yeild.
You won't lose potency in terms of degradation (unless it sits too long in lye) but having higher pH may lead to a few more negligible impurities getting into the final yield. Still usable to smoke.

You should try both and keep notes on your process for each extraction and their final yield %. Also note the tree that supplied the extract material.
