Acacia Acuminata - First Run

im thinking perhaps i have been getting A Saligna and A acuminata confused... Im south of the river in perth... Is it likely that acuminata will be growing close by? or is it more liekly that it is infact saligna? All the photographs i can find show the flower on acuminata to be a longer cylinder shape flower where as saligna has small ball shaped flowers.. i can get a proper id next week as i know where a guarunteed acuminata is but i cant get there till wednesday next week, id love to know whats up before then. Can anyone shed some light on my acuminata / saligna dilemma? photographs of flowers/ leaves/ bark from acuminata greatly appreciated!

i didnt think acuminata has N-N DMT? it was just 5-MeO and carbo(something or rather) wasnt it? hmm i just checked wikipedia and it just says 1.5% tryptamine in leaf. what tryptamines? and how much of each?

Acuminata has the longer cylindrical flowers, not the little ball shaped ones.

Haven't seen any around perth, so from the hills to the wheatbelt are your best bet. Here is a distribution map

Take a drive to York, they are very numerous around there. Trust me on that... :d
 
cheers Sereniti, i just needed to hear that the flowers were different, ill go for a roadtrip hunting trees soon then, i got a bunch of GPS co-ords so i know ill have the right one,
thanks again peoples, ill be doing an extraction within a week and ill let everyone know how it goes
 
It was sampled for the first time over the weekend, with the following results

Started off small with a 15 mg dose of freebase on top of some damiana in a vaporizer, with no strongely discernable effects (felt slightly 'odd', but probably more the damiana than the dmt). Very likely due to the vaporizer not being an efficient enough way of getting enough inhaled asap.

Then the same dosage was tried in a waterbong, and this time the effects were definately noticeable ! Lots of mandala-esque visuals with eyes closed, and a feeling of body loss, if that makes sense.

Finally, a 25 mg dose was taken, and that was the most intense experience i've had so far - very strong visuals, even with eyes open, and a strange feeling of being surrounded by these humanoid yet smake-like beings ..still processing that experience trying to figure it out :?

So yeah, a successful extraction !

BTW, the shellite solution only yielded about 0.5g of crystals, so it would seem the majority came out in the initial freeze precipitation. Total yield was 3.8g from 500g bark.
 
hey all so im finally doing one now, started with 800g bark, did A/B tek the results are in my freezer, i didnt get exact same pictures as tek, no cloudy shellite, i had strands with crystals fleking through it, thinking prehaps liquid wasnt warm enuff.. ended up in 3 distinct layers, bottom layer brown mucky - middle layer oily looking crystal standy stuffsorta a fawn colour and the shellite level- does this sound correct. should i expect crystals? i have a minute amount of the bottom layer still in the bowl in freezer - what would this do to it? - i hope i did it right -:p this bark came from geraldton way im thinking it was a subsp burkitti. should still have the same chems right?

I'm confused so I guess just wait and see what, if anything, precipitates. Again, some photos of the tree would help..
 
i got the right tree im just wondering about the extraction; i read how sereniti used too much shellite im thinkign maybe i did the same, althought i just used 1L to 800g should be on track, and the first boil it had wasnt so much a boil but i had it sitting in a crock pot for like 8 hours.. im hopeful :p
 
Extra shellite is no big problem. In fact more is better you want every speck from that non-polar and you can easily evaporate the solvent down with a fan. As for the "acid boil" the solution doesnt really have to boil it just speeds up the extraction but anything over 50-60c (crockpot temps) and you're golden. You can substitute extra time for lower temp.

Swim would love to know if those figures have been substantiated through experimentation. It seems people have copied that snippet from the lycaeum to many forums and we don't really have a clear picture as to whats inside this wattle.

I don't believe you will get any crystals from phyllode extractions, it is +1 % and sustainable compared to bark but its jungle honey. Better off getting material in the middle of summer, bark should yield 1.5% and upwards depending on source material and advanced extraction technique.

I am a new member of this forum and have recently been introduced to the pleasure and strangeness of DMT. Recently I visited an historic WA town and harvested some leaf tips and some bark off a well dead acacia (I respect the gift); believed to be the Jam Wattle from a report on species in the area... The phyllodes are maybe 3-5mm wide and 10 cm long with a bluey-grey haze and the tips are curled like hooks at the end. They are now dried. In your opinion, is it worth extracting from the phyllodes? Is 'jungle honey' worth the D-Limonene money?

I have read a post of yours Fable that does say crystal cannot be obtained from the phyllodes. Does this mean then that a smokable/ vapour product cannot be made, instead an Ayahuasca type brew for this? If you are still with this forum. Cheers :)
