Botany Acacia and Mimosa Identification Thread

Growing logs with advice and results.
Migrated topic.
I came across this what looked like an acacia.

Conditions: coastal, volcanic soil, subtropical climate, northern hemisphere, December. Little annual rain, but high humidity.

The shrub was maybe 1 meter tall and there were a few of them within close proximity of one another, between that height and small seedlings a foot tall.

It sounds like you have identified a flowering acacia tree that appears to be Acacia obtusifolia, based on its flowering season and location. Acacia obtusifolia, also known as the blunt-leaved wattle or the round-leaved wattle, is a species of acacia native to Australia. It is known for its bright yellow flowers, which typically bloom between November and December in New South Wales, and its round, glossy leaves.

Iran, fars, noor abad

Acacia Nilotica (i guess? correct me if im wrong, this is my first acacia ID)

Found this one growing today, there are a few smaller ones. Very large leaves, coastal NSW. I've gotta find a good place to look through and find out what species it would be.

EDIT: Closest species seems to be falcata

Hi, any ideas what type of Acacia this is? :)

Phyllode length 95mm, width 7mm. 3 main phyllode nerves. Flowers in groups of 5. Quite large spacing between phyllodes...

I picked the right time to be interested in Acacias. Turns out there's a tree on campus that I've passed many times before, but only today did I realize it was an Acacia. There was a small sign attached to the trunk with the words "Acacia Longifolia, E. Australia".

However, the phyllodes seemed more narrow than what I had expected.
Can someone here help me shed light on this :surprised ? The tree was no taller than 5 meters tall.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure it is A. Longifolia

This tree is definitely NOT A. Longifolia as the flowers are very white and Longifolia flowers are usually very lemon yellow. I have a few ideas on what it might be but also curious as to your approximate location as it resembles a quite micro-endemic species in the same family. OR it could be one of the variations of Floribunda as mentioned above too.

In regards to the Floribunda conversation, I've noticed some correlation between whiteness of flower and longer length of phyllodes with higher likelihood of alkaloid activity - and the ones with shorter phyllode and yellower flowers yielding nil.

I have seen some longifolia that are not quite 'white' but are closer to white than yellow.. I think is a highly variable species like Floribunda.. and am personally convinced that they hybridize. Longifolia and Floribunda both seem to stray beyond the boundaries of their agreed taxonomy.. the literature is pretty generous in the leeway it gives some of these species.. but there are for sure exceptions. I am surprised there aren't any recognized sub species of Floribunda or Longifolia (excluding Sophorae)

Dear Nexians,

I also need your expert identification and sleuthing skills. Been trying to source a good acacia plant species for DMT extraction. Would like to know if anyone has used, is using, or thought about using Acacia erioloba (= Vachellia erioloba). Pics added to this post. Is there DMT in the bark or roots? Or is this a dead end track for me. Thank you kindly.

Thanks Nexus,

I have discovered the amazing thread on Acacia's acacia and the work done by nen888 and others is so beautiful to read. It will take me a while to get through this massive yet profound thread, really enjoying it. I share much the same sentiments as getting to know the plants as spiritual entities in themselves and working with then in reverence. Again this is why I love the Nexus, I really know of no other place with such depth of information combined with right intention...

Okay I will carry on researching and testing. If anyone does have direct experience with the above acacia erioloba and please do let me know in any case. Stay inspiring...

Hey Guys n girls hope this is a good spot to put this.. hope everyone having a lovely day! I finally moved somewhere that there's so many gorgeous acacias around yay! Found this one would love an ID on it if possible. It hasn't had a chance to flower yet.. somewhere in NE NSW
Thanks for any info cheers

Kurtles, none of your links work & you posted another thread 10 minutes after this post... Patience.

Reminder that there is no need to use bark with acacias, and a lot of the species in the wild that are active are now at high risk due to exploitation.

Thanks for the reply mate, I posted in another spot because I wasn't sure if this would get an answer :) I am very appreciative of our earth and nature and would never harm a tree. I've been looking into this for years and have done extractions but really want to start from scratch. I am very kind to all animals people and trees so there would be no worries. I am going to even grow one eventually and have it on my property for 40 years n share stories with it. The links are working for me :/

Either way, I really appreciate your reply. Thanks!

Hey Guys, as posted above, I'll try delete it if possible because it will be irelivent after this post, but I am in love with existence. I love myself with all my heart and every experience I encounter. I've been spending many years tinkering and extracting and all sorts of stuff, very patiently. I've been growing a lot over the last 8 year's and now I'm back in my home land. I am a really respectful person to myself, and that includes the nature around me. I really appreciate all plants and trees and animals and people, you name it. I'm probably not gonna do any extracts or anything straight away, but I want to start learning the plants, especially acacias, around me.. I'm not gonna just go start smashing beautiful trees to use them for their beautiful energy. I just want to become more attuned to these beautiful species. Literally, I am constantly walking up to trees and talking to them n staring in awe. Can anyone help me identify this? I would probably have an easier time if it was flowering, but that's the thing, I'm not even sure when it flowers. I have a feeling like during or at the end of winter? But maybe it's in spring I'm not sure. But this is what I want to learn. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Would probably help reading this whole thread but j just don't have the time at the moment to commit. I will though of course. Thanks if anyone can help me I really appreciate it.

@Kurtles

Looks like Acacia longifolia var sophorae to me (sometimes referred to as Acacia sophorae).

@FZA

Doesnt look like any acacia I am familiar with, leguminacea likely but not Acacia to me. What do others think?

Hello, can anyone help me ID this ones?
They grow in the north of Spain, I have seen neither the pods nor the flower.
I was thinking maybe Acacia dealbata and Acacia farnesiana.
