Hey folks, I've been absent for awhile on a soul searching quest. My recent ayahuasca attempts did not go so well, I blame it on weak material, I felt very minimal effects from 200/200g. Regardless I was able to find myself through deep meditation and self reflection.
Anyway I am hoping someone could help me with a very simple pre-defat step via the use of xylene.
After about a year of experimenting with different teks and implementing new ideas and methods of extraction, my friend has come up with his own tek always yielding 2%+ even after re-crystallization and would very much like to use his own tek on acacia confusa and see end results. However he has only worked with mimosa hostillis and never done a defat step.
I have done some research on the subject of defatting, it seems my friend will have to acidify his bark solution and than add xylene to the mix to pull out the plant fats? Is this the only method? Is it the best method? Could re-crystallization be used to get rid of fats as well (I had read this somewhere?)
Today (sunday) will be my friends only day off for probably the next two weeks, he has taken up working 12hour shifts monday-sunday to help support his madre whom has just recently lost her job. He would very much like to complete at least one pull today if at all possible, as he will only have 3-6hours a day for any kind of research or experimenting between work and sleep. He's also heard that efficient defatting takes up to 12 hours. Is this true? Is there anyway to speed up the reaction?
