Acacia mearnsii tek

SWIM is going to be helping to remove a huge stand of these invasive Acacia mearnsii trees tomorrow that are encroaching on a local wildlife area.

SWIM has never done an extraction, so I want to know what part of the tree to use. Ideally the bark from younger branches. Should you just get a knife and and scrape off the bark from the small (1-4 inch) diameter brances.

Also, SWIM has never done an extraction before, so what teks would you recommend?

And how long does the bark stay active when kept dry in storage? can branches be left lying around and then used in a few months?

Since there hasn't been rain for over six months, I expect this to be a good time for alkaloids.

rudder, and others, i feel i need to make a few key points here:

1) Acacia mearnsii is NOT EASY TO CONCLUSIVELY INDENTIFY compared to similar species..even to the experienced!
without close-up images of pinnae, jugary-glands (see Botanical terms Acacia info thread), flower and pod/seed
you could easily have A. decurrens or dealbata..neither of which is said to have much if anything in there..

2) i have repeatedly stated in the acacia info thread that there are RELIABLE vs. VARIABLE acacia species..
reliable, meaning certain to have dmt the rest being up to your extraction skills, include A. acuminata and A. confusa..other species, like Mearnsii, are EXPERIMENTAL or in research..

3) if finding DMT is the main frustration, then seek out acacia bark from chinese medicine suppliers (very easy) or be patient and grow known reliable species..

Inactive. Trying many hits and holding each for 10+ seconds out of a GVG results in nothing more than brain fog.

Any idea what's in the extract? I thought N-heptane exclusively pulls N,N-Dimethyltryptamine.

Identification is really hard with this species as Nen has mentioned. What is worse is that you begin to see that there are all these different strains and what may well be about a dozen species (or more) or sub-species. And they may be active too... not enough research has been done.

We will have really gotten somewhere when we all know, what sub-species/strain/species is the one with tryptamines, how to look for it, and what time of year it tends to be active. etc.

btw, Rudder, your extract looks promising...

All too often newbies think they can just go out there and extract DMT from a local acacia just like that. It normally just doesn't work like that.

have you used the gvg much rudder? I ask because a lot of people vape dmt with it to no avail due to problems in their technique.. I find a great way to test extracts is with the sandwich bong method. and I agree with choco, your extract does look very promising

A freind recently did a STB on some trunk bark from a dead mearnsii and freeze precipitated nothing what-so-ever.
Couldve been the shellite or not enough water used but instinct tells me this tree has nothing to share.
Next up is a.pravissima or a.implexa phyllode test.
