Acacia Obtusifolia i.d.

Well this is my first post in the nexus. I guess I should begin by saying Hi everyone I'm Undernose & my avatar is to damn big, Gotta fix that. I have had a few "failed" extractions & am hoping there are some inspired & intelligent people here that can help me in my quest for the spice.:twisted: Went for a walk today and found some specimens that look a lot like Acacia Obtusifolia. There were a few variants or different species. Can anyone give me a positive ID. I have added a poll so please vote if you feel you know. Stipules triangular, less than 0.5 mm long or obscure. Phyllodes linear to narrowly elliptic, 12–25 cm long, 7–23 mm wide, the margins uneven and edged with microscopic granular resin globules, with obtuse apex, coriaceous, dark green, the primary veins prominent, commonly 2–5, the secondary veins parallel, sparingly anastomosing; gland c. 8 mm above base; pulvinus present. Inflorescences with peduncles 5–10 mm long; spikes 3–7 cm long; bracteoles ovate-navicular, c. 0.5 mm long, minutely fringed. Flowers 4-merous, loosely packed, creamy white to pale yellow; sepals united. Pods subcylindrical, linear, mostly straight, 5–15 cm long, 3.5–7 mm wide, crustaceous. Well.. I could just vote, but that wouldn't help you as I have never seen an Acacia tree. I'm in Europe and I don't think we have those here.

Hay Doerak thats OK. I put the "Don't Know" option in there fo this type of situation & statistically the don't knows do matter.

Welcome to the community I sent you a PM, not sure if you saw it. I don't know if they are A.Obtus, as I said in the PM, they all look like A.Obtus to me, but I was wondering where you found them (like what state) I've been looking for some myself (so I can get some nice photos).

hmm D is the one that looks closest to obtusifolia. the rest look more to longifolia to me?

Its really hard to tell. Personally i knew that obtusifolia was in an area, and simply tried little extractions on the various likely acacias there. Now its fairly easily recognisable by the shape of the bush, whereas the leaves are all pretty similar d is the only possibility really, but i remember the leaves being a bit less rounded

Hay halou Yeah, I think I will do something like that to. Few small tests In a few days there will be some pics of the whole bush in here .

they all look like acacia sophorae to me. obtus leaves arent so rounded. d is the only possibility but it still looks to rounded.
