Upon the first steps of cybs tek when you arrive at step 3... is it ok to stop after this step and continue a few hours later and begin the step 4 of basifying? (letting the liquid cool down)

Currently Step 3 is vinegar & de-ionized water added to powder, then heat bath for 1 hr.

I guess I have 2 questions...:p

When getting to the basifying step is there an optimal temp the heat bath should be once adding the salt & lye?

Hey Canvas
1. It will be fine to leave it at the acid stage for a while. The longer the soak, the more the cell walls will break down.
2.When basifying...the temp doesn't matter. Keeping the mix warm just increases the amount of full spectrum goodies to transfer to the solvent. It is fine to let it cool if you want. Then warm up again later.
Good luck

Hey Cyb,

Hope your holidays were/are enjoyable and thank you so much for the quick response! Your tek is quite awesome. I have witnessed .850 : 50.2g pwdr on the first extraction of 3 pulls. This will now be number 2 as the process is now more understood and will hopefully yield a bit higher on this second try.

Best Regards,

Just keep pulling till no more comes out...

I am incredibly confused right now. Naptha in,3 shakes w/ separation and back to the heat bath...waited 10 minutes...check the 1L and nothing has separated. I am guessing my heat bath was too hot and I have to wait for it to cool?

Did i mess it up with having the heat bath too high? the volume in the bottle is still the same so I know nothing has left the 1L.

hmmm

Yes this has been seen before. Don't make the mix too hot, warm is fine. Also sometimes the extra salt makes separation longer. It will separate, just give it time.
I assume you are using 50g bark and have around 700ml liquid so the mix should not be thick.
If in doubt go cooler. :)
