Adding another liter of distilled water to mix before naptha

Is it alright to add another liter of distilled water (not basified), to a bowl of 450 g powdered MHRB and 3 liters of basified distilled water? No naptha has been added yet to the mix. I am using the Lazy Man Tek and read that powdered bark needs more water than non-powdered.

Its ok to add water and I think you may need more then one litre. for 450g of bark I would use at least 6 litres of water. when I do 100g extraction I use 1.5 litre of water.

After you added water do not forget to check your PH the solution should be black. How much lye did you use ?
