i got this very minimal amount of yellow goo ( size of a water drop), not crystals. what am I doing wrong on my evap? i just let the solvent on a plate in front of a fan for hours. i thought solvent had evaped completly, i picked the result with a razor, and it was goo. I inhaled the thing evaping it on a VG, hoping it would give some trip, but nothing.

I had a similar problem during my first extraction and it was because i didnt shake the mhrb powder lye water napatha mixture well enough. i did some very conservative swirling cuz i read all these horror stories of emulsion and what not. just shake it like a Polaroid picture ;-)
It also sounds like you have only gotton some plant oils or something along those lines, i'm not any expert by any means and im sure that someone who knows a hell of a lot more than me will help if this didn't. good luck

You do not want to put your results on a hotplate, otherwise they will melt away, room temp under a fan is better.
Also if you evap solvent quickly = small crystals, evap slower = bigger crystals. Do a freeze precip and see if theres any differnece.
Maybe nothing went in to your np solvent apart from crap? You could always do a couple more pulls. Make sure your solution is as they say around here "jet black"

To me it sounds like there is more spice to be had, there is probably spice in your oily product, but not enough to 'congeal' it. I'd take naphtha and absorb as much of this as will dissolve at about 30 degrees c. Then do more pulls, combine them evaporate the entire volume down to 50% , and freeze it. Probably put it in the fridge for an hour before freezing to start off the crystallization for bigger shards. Larger shards are more stable, even if they are somewhat oily.

what solvent did you use ? have you tried an evap test to see if there are any residues
and i'm really confused on how can you smoke that yellow goo ..
and also freezing is always better than evapping to be honest,but you can add small amount of naptha to the goo and mix it then put it in freeze

superfly: yes im afraid of the emulsion monster thats why i shake very gently, i'll try with harder shakes.

tordyveln: im going to avoid smoking unknown stuff. im using a tek i found in spanish, basic stb using lye and hexane.
Orion: thats a good start. i going to half evap a couple of extracts i have now and freeze em, i froze em as they are now for 20 hours, not one single crystal formed.
cyberdream: i used hexane, paseed evap test. i just put it on a VG and smoked it, see if i got effect. but nothing. the freezing hasnt been any productive to me since n o crystals form after 20 hours or more of freezing, but it may be because im freexing 75 ml of hexane after pulls, im going to evap it down to 20 ml and then freeze it again

When I shake Ive done it hard and crazy and ive babbyed it nice and gentle. my take on it is when your making a fresh batch with all new materials you can shake hard and it will seperate, I do all the 3 pulls in a row. Its when the Jar sits or if I try the next day is always the time to expect emulsion. im not sure why but thats just my expierance

when swim gets yellow goo, its like syrup. if he lets it dry(takes days), it crystalizes. He scrapes it vapes it and its off to hyperville. swim doesnt worry about unknowns as he is very careful with the extraction process. He thinks that the reason he gets the syrup is because the spice concentration too high. Other times he has run a re-extractionon the syrup and reduced the amount of syrup if not totally eliminated it...

As dimensionless said, if you let it stand for a while and scrape and move it around, it should harden/crystallize in a couple of days

ya, swim just did this. it was like yellow syrup. he let it sit in a shotglass in front of a fan. He sped the process up by laying the glass at an angle and rotating it every couple of hrs. The result was nice flat crystaline structures lining the shotglass. He scraped it, left it all in the shotglass and left the shotglass standing upright overnight in front of the fan. in the morning, the color whitened some and was less waxy.
