allergic reaction or what?

i posted a week or so ago about smoking DMT freebase was giving me major sinus pressure and mucus secretion.

so i took a short break. i smoked it again after seven days off ,, same thign. then i started thiking what could be causing this.

1. maybe the smoke irrated my nasal cavity/sinus cavities and caused and infection?
2. maybe because i was on amoxicillin due to a nasty infection i got at work from cutting my leg?
3. maybe too high of a dose>

so i tried smoking it with nose plugs in. it seemed to cancel out the effects, i even had an amazing break through! i waited until i came down completely and removed the nose plugs. instantly the pressure and mucus started to flow.

i waited until i was off the antibiotics. pressuer mucus.

i lowered my dosage to 30mg from 50. no dice.

then i thought maybe it was my pipe. so i switched to glass, to a regular weed pipe, etc... same problem.

then tonight i tried one more time using a clean, brand new pipe, some well dried spice, and a low 20 mg dose. i cannot believe what happened.

as soon as i took a breakthrough hit, visuals started rushing in, it was amazing. then slowly the visuals grew more dim, until al i could see was black. then what felt like a snake or a worm crawling under my scalp started making its way down my forehead toward my nasal cavity. it was thick, rope like, and felt alsmot like rubber. i pulled it through my nasal passage via suction, and fluid started pouring down in a thick stream of mucus for about 20 minutes! occaisionally it would get so thick that it would get stuck and stop flowing and id have to work the lump through and it would flow again. this seriously went on for about an hour.

now, i have no idea what the hell is going on , but im worried i have developed an allergy to dmt freebase. im wondering if i have an allergy to DMT period! DMT is very importat to me, it works like magic for my depresssion, anxiety, agoraphobia, alll of my previous problem for which i could never find a solution until DMT.

I am going to try a different ROA either IM or ORAL and see what happens, but i am scared that too will cause the insanity that i just went through.

anyone else had this happen? i have been a daily DMT user for about six months now and i really dont want this part of my life to be over.....


any advice , suggestions, answers are very welcome.

Yes, a runny nose is one of the most common sideeffects of serotonergic psychedelics imho.
Congratulations, you've managed to smoke a decent dose!

It could be that this dmt induced flush of you nasal cavities removed quite a bit of stuff you didn't know even existed. Perhaps check with you doctor if you've got chronic sinusitis, because ejaculating ropes of mucus for 20 minutes is not normal.

I would also suggest to use a netti pot for a few days.

I think i could benefit from a nasal cavity flush like that :lol:
I broke my nose ~5 years ago & noe every so often i get pressure & i swear theres something in there that's too big to come back out & blocks my nasal passages.

I think if it was an allergic reaction you'd have noticed swelling of the throat, tounge, & lips, inflamation in the lungs, & trouble breathing well at all.

That is a lot of DMT! And all the different methods you tried to fix the problem in a short time period makes it sound like you might be over doing it.
Maybe give it a break and try to see what your body tells you. A week isn't really a break IMO. If I was you I'd take a month break.
Your problem may not be taking in DMT too often, but my body always has a way of telling me when I need to slow down on something. It might be the case for you.

its seriously strange. if i hold my nose while i smoke, it doesnt happen until i let go of it. then all the sudden its as if a reaction happens with the air and my sinus cavity. it fills up almost instantly, and i swear on my soul i can feel some of it coming from either high up under my forehead or even further back towards where the pineal gland would be...

that statement may just be me drawing a naive conclusion, or could it be that my pineal gland is going crazy?

i cannot find anything anywhere online about anyone else having this exact experience. i would hate to have my head explode like a mucus bomb because i enjoyed something so much that i decided to incorporate it into my daily routine.

thank GOd spice isn't addictive beyond slightly psychological, if even that, because the amount that i was doing if it were certain other drugs, id be in a world of hurt trying to take a break.


i hope this problem stops. i do not enjoy it.

Daily dmt use? That would my first guess. Doesnt give you much time to integrate, nor does it give your lungs a break.

Have you had your adenoids taken out?

I have and after mushrooms I get a very runny nose and it hurts to blow it.
It's just a thought.

Yes, your pineal is going "crazy"..it is communicating with your mucus, because it isn't "mucus" its a life form inhabiting you, and the discharge you're experiencing is its way to procreate!

Either this, or you're experiencing a common sideeffect of dmt in a "psychedelic way" and are now trying to make sense of it, being a hypochonder.

The cause is most likey a cerebrospinal spinal fluid leak.
A CSF leak is an escape of the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.
Causes of leakage could be caused because of

Certain head, brain, or spinal surgeries
Head injury
Placement of tubes for epidural anesthesia or pain medications
Spinal tap (lumbar puncture)

Sometimes, no cause can be found. This is called a spontaneous CSF leak.

The relation between DMT and CSF is understudied.

Relation could be connected with DMT being found inside the CSF inside of lab rats and most likely also humans. DMT Found in the Pineal Glands of Live Rats - Psychedelic Frontier

Daily DMT user for six months :?: ! Dude that's way to much. Take it once in a while like on the weekends not everyday of the week haha!

I've been taking high doses of Potassium Iodide (1gr daily) for long time and it removes all mucous. Especially during first 2 weeks - the nose is running like crazy

So if you have too much mucous, give it a try. Google it for more info. Always take together with Selenium.
