Almost ready to attempt first extraction

I'm a total noob that just has a few questions as I'm getting ready to attempt my first extraction.

I'm going to be following NoMans tek.

Basically I'm just wanting to know if my set up is good enough I'm just waiting for the lye to come in and the turkey baster lol.

But my setup is

X 2 64.oz jars with lids (mixing)
X 4 quart jars with lids (collection)
X 4 quarts naphtha
X 2010 grams powdered MHRB
X 2 1ml pipette
X 1 50 ml beaker
X 1 100 ml beaker
X 2 gallons purified water
X 2 gallons distilled water (not sure if that even matters)

And am just waiting on the 2 pounds of lye

Best of luck! Your first extraction might not be the best, but you figure it out better the more you do it. Start small, around 100g, just to test the waters and get it all figured out. My first extraction was abysmal, but after trying a couple different teks and experimenting around I eventually got a 600mg pull!

Thanks man. I guess I'm just nervous since it's getting closer to time.

In some aspects I feel like maybe I went too far (like with 2 64 oz jars)

In your opinion though is this suitable for extractions? Is there anything I am missing? Is any of it overkill?

Nope! Not going to far at all. You're just more prepared for larger extractions in the future

I've tried a couple different teks and found this one to be the most efficient, but find one that works for you!

So maybe this is a dumb question but could I make a filter for my turkey baster with a coffee filter for the decanting process? Or would I just filter the dmt back into the water? Would a rubber band be dissolved by the naptha?

to be honest bud the syphoning with the turkey baster is probably the hardest part. so just keep that simple, and no rubber with naptha

Okay thanks. I think I managed to do a pretty good job and not sucking up any pollutants. In my second collection jar I noticed a few grains (like 5) of the powdered MHRB. I'm hoping that wont be a big issue which is what led me to the idea of a filter for the baster

So after a full 24 hours I filtered my solvent out of my collection jars as best I could but at room temp the crystals keep melting should I freeze precip without lids? My freezer that I'm using a deep freeze "junk freezer" in one of my collection jars I got an orange goo I assume this is safe to smoke?
