Animals getting their party on?

I just found a video of a squirrel laying on the ground allegedly tripping after eating some near by mushrooms.

I've heard and seend dogs get into edibles and buds.

cats get down on carnip.

what other animals get twisted in their spare time for fun?

last season my neighbors peach tree ripened up and there were squirrels EVERYWHERE and they were super hyper off the sugar rush. a few days after the big party there were half eaten fruits laying around and we noticed the squirrels were looking pretty intoxicated, stumbling around, mumbling incoherent grievances, complaining about their partners and chain smoking cigarettes. ok, maybe that last half was a bit embellished but I'm telling you I watched at least 300 squirrels have a big party .

this also makes me wonder about animal venom and poison immunities. I've heard some animals are immune or dramatically less reactive to toxins and irritants like clown fish with stinging anemone and gold fish to high nitrogen levels .

do dmt, think about animals tripping, discuss?

I have weed smoking customers. The parents are old Deadheads and the daughter and her bf smoke weed. I have come to pick up the elderly dog for a walk and found it splayed on the couch in a room thick with marijuana smoke. OMG she was SO hard to wake up and motivate to go walkies that day!
:) I'll get that the passive smoking can get a dog pretty high. But eating buds? Do they convert the THCA internally? The rest of us needs to do some decarboxylation.

growing up we had a boxer that would absolutely lose his mind if I didn't let him come out to join the circle. and if i did let him out and we ignored him he would just start crawling into laps trying to swat glass out of peoples hands. he was a real scooby doo

Urine from an un-fixed female dog is apparently an intoxicating substance.

Every time my dog takes a piss, if there's a male dog around, he'll come over and lick it up. If there's more than one, they'll take turns licking the ground. And then, with a wild, euphoric look in their eyes, they'll follow my girl around, who'll oblige them by urinating right in front of their face if they're lucky – but only if he's uncut and larger than her.

There've been times where she's gotten every dog in the village to follow her around. Female dogs will also gather to watch the show and see if one of their pack gets laid by the new girl in town. It's a genuine dog party! The libation on tap: my girl's pee. Which for a male dog, is like top shelf alcohol.

There is a 2002 six part documentary series called Weird Nature that might be worth a watch. Particularly the sixth episode in the Weird Nature series is 'Peculiar Potions' and covers cats seeking out cat nip, jaguars seeking out drugs in the jungle ( which a video appears to have been linked earlier in thread ), bees and monkeys that seek out fermented things that make them drunk, lemurs who chew and rub millipede juice all over them to get intoxicated, and a few others.

Probably some interesting documentaries have come out since that I'm not aware of.

its the pheromones and horomones at work. humans participate in similar albeit less uuhhh explicit behaviour at least publicly any ways .
