anne halonium / violet teks 101/ albino

Migrated topic.
the sub.........

we use WBR and /OR RGS in various combos or as stand alones.

we also use common ferts mostly in the 5-5-5 to 20-20- 20 ranges.
i will endorse no particular brand . most common store ferts work.
one asks why?

decades ago, i hunted wild cubes thru the tropics.
ive been to alot of cow and horse fields.

peeps see grass , horse cows and fences and turds.
whats never seen is the urine. its not noticed
active pastures are urine soaked.
as urine dries it heavily nitrates the environment.
cubes clearly like massive nitrates.

in the mid 80's we got the idea to start soaking cultures/ agar etc,
in various common NPK ferts,.........

our method is pretty simple, we mix the ferts as directed mixed with water.
we then use that water as a base , for hydrating grains, and agar.
so the whole process is essentially 10-10-10 NPK infused.

i offer the info as a disclaimer mostly.
i make no claims other than we have been playing with ferts and cultures for like 30 yrs.
all my work shown uses it to some degree.
anything ive ever presented on the topic, includes the " results" in an obvious pic.
( to us its a "typical" MS grow as weve used these methods or variants for decades.)

i would suggest those seriously interested try it themselves.
OR see the huge " violet tek" series ( google) for other fine details and testing.
violet details our theory on ferts best, and the reasons why use them .

as for RH environment?
standard room, whole HEPA
and we use 33 gal and 55 gal HDPE cargo containers.

plastic PP5 cups are stacked inside
with a gentle daily mist and bottom watering , and 2x daily fresh air,
along with a blast of LED 450 NM .
seriously , that IS the total environment.
avg temp 80 degrees.

this can be scaled.
im always humored when peeps think you need one million cups for this.
i present 1/2 dozen, or ,one mere AA 910 cooker load.

when one scans grow forums, one will see a great deal of grow drama,
along with devices, machines , humidifiers, automation, ,ducting ,fish pumps,
fish heaters, verm ,perle , stop ,drop, dunk , DEC and roll on a foil device,
and, bake at 360 / 12/12 / 6500 k arrays of tube lights..........
^
thats not annie.
were seed ,ferts ,water , plastic cups and heavy duty plastic totes.
we fast PC , we innoc with screw drivers, never shake, and case with potting soil.
oh and a misting bottle, and we casual wave LED blue at them.
we are that simple...............and we like alot of pics.

How much fertilizer do you recommend adding? Could you detail some recipes for solid substrates and for pom tek agar slush?

Your grows look good! Do your methods also bear fruit with Pan Cyan? Have you tried Semilanceatas?

usually we mix a gallon of fert water as directed on the label.
then boil RGS or WRR in that liquid till fluffy.
we dont even rinse or strain.
we then scoop one cup into a PP5 container and PC.

its that simple.
frankly, im always amazed and baffled by more complex methods and engineering.
we have always felt this should be direct and easy.
after all, they grow in the wild without drama.

close observation of wild specimens,
and a solid understanding of basic physics and micro biology/ lab handling,
along with modern equip like plastics and LED,
has led us to these methods.

once again, this tek is based on " oss and oeric" classic,
with upgrades not available to the masses in the 1976 original book / tek.

our main interest is cubes and mexicana variants.
we do not do pans or wood lovers.

i will defer all pom questions to the pom pom tek thread.

" someone" ( on another forum ) once said...........
"you cant grow big shrooms in a tiny plastic cup!"

naturally, annie would disagree.

should have let this one grow but it was unbalancing the cup.

So you said these aren't clones... in chat you said they are clones from MS. So they're still clones or is this something else ? Much confuse.

no they are NOT clones, all shown are MS.
im just baked sometimes........

clones come out more like this............

pic is a house strain , from our wild collection,
MS is always lame in comparison.

we no longer use glass of course.

stay tuned, this thread is just a primer .

Very nice thread anne, im very glad you made your way to the nexus.

Cant wait to see what else you have to show us.

Very interesting technique, thanks for sharing anne. Props for always thinking out of the box and daring to try new things.

In about 2 weeks I'll be moving to a very urban area so I might just have to give this tek a shot and see how it goes.

its designed specifically to give the urban grower the advantage.
speed, low energy . low IR low heat , stealth, easy supply and handling.
the peeps demand it!

pic albinos under 680 nm red LED.

next thread up peeps, annie does agar for the masses.
stay tuned...........

Excellent, Anne. These are great looking grows, especially as multi-spore.
Would it be okay with you if I showed some of these photos on the violet tek posts on Shroomery?

Here are a few of my own containers, some of the best which I happened to photograph :]

Before I found isolate cultures I wanted to keep testing:

I even got some great third flushes from these 'lesser' cultures.

An Albino tote of my own! Tub-garden style - different containers fruiting at somewhat different times.

I was re-purposing an old "monotub" after discovering I preferred this method even though I was still really teaching it to myself. These days I wouldn't suggest putting holes in the totes.

Eventually I did find cultures I was happy to use after designing a culturing method around the way I grew.

Never thought of using liquid fertilizers. Good idea.
I used to use Cottonseed meal with bulk substrate grows just because I had a bunch around.

Nice to see a nice turnout for the urban growers. I mostly grew outdoors, because well, I'm in a good climate for such things and space/raw materials were always really cheap and available here.

thanks!
