Anyone seen this in a recrystallization before?

Is the heptane clean ? Does it evap clean, or if you put some of the pure heptane in the freezer does somethig crash out?
If your solvent is clean, no worries its just probably some more of the impurities from the plant, which you didnt see because when warm it was dissolved in the solvent, it only crashed out when cooling.. You can always recrystallize again if you want, and that should make it even cleaner.

You might just want to recrystallize again using all clean vessels, maybe something leached into it.
The yellow is probably not oxide just plant fats from MHRB that are rather pleasant to vape, too.
Brown however sounds like base mixture, I am not sure how that got in there, that is why I suggest maybe redoing it.

If it's just yellow I would leave that as is, good work!
Now you can vape in confidence knowing it's as pure as you can get. 8)
BBBlack, I dont think so, I think recrystallizations will most definitely leave it pure white or even transparent after 1-5 runs, depending on how dirty was the original material.
I have the same problem with the yellow colour (Minimizing oxidation during acetone redissolving? - A/B - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus) so just leave it yellow, if it's everywhere yellow?
I dont use the freezer, I just let it sit in the warm water bath until the water cools then cover it in foil and let it slow evap. Give me nice clear crystals witha yellow slag at the bottom. The clear crystals can easily be scrapped off the slag with out problems.
