Are there any other solvent usable (to dissolve free base mezc)???

Hello everyone.

I have problems getting xylene, benzene or DCM in my country because this are regulated by the drug ministry...
So Im able only for buying solvents at the hardware store like nafta (hexane), ethanol, some aromatic solvents mixture used for painting... etc

Its true I could get the mezc by the resin method, but thats the problem; Im a newbe on mezcaline extraction and I could not know my yield and dose using that method.

So, the cuestion above: Are there any other solvent usable (to dissolve free base mezc)???
Please dont speculate about the potential usable solvents. If someone knows about chem or have the experience please give it to my.

chloroform works great. but if DCM is regulated so is chloroform probably?

yes, also chloroform...

The aromatic solvents mixture also has oxygenated solvents, smelling it I could say it has at least acetone...
This seems to be a good solvent, mezcaline has MeO- groups that could form H-bonds and the and the aromatic compounds with the benzene ring... the problem is that some components of this solvent also are soluble in water, because when I mixed with water and chake I formed only one grey phase which seperated time later.

Limonene is available on visual art stores but you have to buy a lot to get some litres and is expensive.

Im going to consult chem literature to find some good solvent.

Solvents that mix with water are not a good idea. Not only will separating layers be difficult but basic compounds that one would use to basify the water layer would also move into the organic layer and could easily end up in the final product.

Naptha and other chain hydrocarbons like hexane, heptane, do not dissolve mescaline well at all. Neither does ether and petroleum ether.

Honestly you don't have a lot of options at this point. Limonene might be your safest option sorry to say.

Sucks to have such strict laws on solvents though. I knew a scientist woman from Ecuador and she said even at the University they had a hard time getting solvents! All because of the War on Drugs...

If you have the money (and the time) you can distill your own solvents from gasoline or some other product.

And I will have to pay to the U about USD 5000 for each year I spend there... About USD 30000.
I have asked before and they looked me as a criminal or terrorist. I cant ask the solvents there, they dont want to give me the supplier, so...
I think Im going to use the aromatic solvents mixture. The hell with the cetone and water, I supose mezcaline will prefer aromatic solvents....

I wonder how well you could clean the alcohols / acetone out of those aromatic painting mixes just by washing with water repeatedly. Limo also works fine and you really don't need much. If you are patient you can salt all the pulls separately and only use 200 ml or so, probably even less.

here is one tek using limonene.

Yeah, the ron tek uses 300 ml limo at a time, but you could use less in a pinch. Having more will make your life a lot easier especially if the sludge starts to eat limo or emulsions form, depending on tek. It's possible to salt each limo pull, optionally clean the limo, then pull/salt again with the same limo.

Hypothetical paintmix aromatic solvent cleaning: put ~500ml solvent in a jar with ~500 ml water, mix it up, let it separate, remove and discard the water. repeat. The water should take away some of the acetone/alcohols/anything water soluble each time.
