keep in mind DMT, especially depending on what its from if self-extracting, can have varying degrees of tolerance to heat.
I have observed with the accuminata extract (oil) i have gotten from a particularly mishandled pull, it quickly stops producing smoke encouraging longer exposure to flame, promptly causing a foul almost literal explosion. Im pretty sure that NMT or some of the other triptamines can exothermically decompose, meaning that if you use a technique like i do, rolling the blob around onto dry heated glass rather than directly trying to "boil" it, it would fizzle a bit and smoke up with minimal chance of burning, since overheating also results in the blob not being to advance.
Anyway, doing that, the entire blob seemingly flashed up with flame long gone and just just of getting to the end of the useable heat on the glass. the smoke it produced was nasty and reminded me of vomit. after this it continued producing smoke normally again but, it was hard to tell if it was active in a different way or, i was just getting traces of jungle spice, so at that point i stop and lament in the fact that this blob is basically still the same volume and my yield is largely useless XD
Where i was getting at though is, i have a precision heated soldering hot air gun, it produces hot air at around the same profile as a jet flame, using that i had wonderful results.
I believe the superior non-combustion way to vaporize DMT, especially if you have a source like accuminata where its hard to get seperation of the jungle spices, is to use hot air in some way or another. precision heating the glass so it never reaches a temp that can burn anything is nice and all, but medical vapes as i know them, "dry vapes", use heated air, either by wire element or infrared by whatever means that can heat air, and they produce the best, most consistent, safest results.
glass pipes and other flame heated aparatus that dont use a huge thick heating surface to buffer/slow the rate of chance, also suffer from an increasing amount of skill required to, while tripping, administer flame correctly, on a small amount of dmt. With a hot air gun i can pull the glass pipe to dryness when the DMT is pure, with flame, scorching your spice will probably produce oils which will prevent it vaporizing as easily, that it has to diffuse out of, and, ultimately makes it hard to get solid doses towards the end, as well as being able to actually use up all the DMT too, you might end up with some viable spice mixed in with char that is simply no longer suited to smoking in this manner, so you then would probably want to collect it which is a hassle.
In short, if you can use a precision (electronic controlled) heat source, wether that is used to heat a vessel, or to blow hot air directly through the spice (like a dry herb vape), you will get, arguably the best possible results.
Ordinary vapes are supposed to be good too if you like vape-fog, and, you have a decent vaporizer, perhaps one designed for handling medicated juice. There is a trick to it though, to get it to dissolve right and probably certain settings you need to get a breakthrough dose quick enough since breakthrough doses, diluted by the juice, are generally close to the output limits.
