are you shpongled?

Migrated topic.
Shpongle is spectacularly good.

Also recommended: Hallucinogen in Dub (Hallucinogen remixed by Ott) and the album "In Search of a Meaningful Moment" by an Israeli artist called Yaniv Shulman.

Sadly I must admit that Shpongle just played here locally and conflicting plans somehow caused a serious cerebral dysfunction and I missed the show. Not sure I can ever let myself live this down! Now especially after viewing these links!!

Thanks for the heads up! I had never heard of them

Got the albums downloading now tho..

God bless the internet! :d

Oh Sphongle!

Another album, this fall! I hope it doesn't fall short like the "Nothing Lasts..." album did. For some reason it just didn't speak to me the way the first two did.

The first two albums were amazing, magnificant works of psycadelic art...

If you haven't heard Shpongle, please do yourself a favor and at least youtube some of their work. Vapor Rumors, Monster Hit, Star Sphongled Banner (nice vid that goes along with this one), Sea of Blissful Awareness, and of course - Divine Moment of Truth, among many others are just wonderful.

Personally I find nothing lasts to be 1000 times beyond Are you shpongled?
It's a concept album, which I don't really get that impression from the first album. The first album seems very experimental- they're still finding that shpongle sound.

Nothing lasts is one seamless 60 minute piece of music, and I hear a huge leap of growth and refined skills compared to are you shpongled.

There is so much more subtle layering of sounds, and I find the overall concept to be much better.

I'm all about nothing lasts. The first album was cool at the time but it wasn't too far away from what's been done before. TOTI was a collection of amazing tunes but I didn't think it played through as an album all that well.

Nothing lasts is just amazing, but only as a whole.

Actually I would agree that TOTI didn't flow as well as the others...felt a little less organic and a bit more 'produced', but still very cool...and yeah 'Nothing Lasts...' needs to be appreciated as a whole...my favourite Shpongle habitat though has to be the second half of 'Are you Shpongled?...'

I love all three albums. To they are each a completely different experiences. I have been waiting for the new shpongle album for a while now. I have listening to shpongle so much tripping that it doesn't quite affect me like it used to. I remember the first few times I tripped and listened to shpongle it was amazing. Those were some of my best trips every. I just remember chilling on my balcony up in the trees with the hookah and a good friend. Just getting it on with shpongle. Damn those are some amazing memories. Life Experiences.

Awesome stuff man, completely agree with you.

I think 'And the day turned to night...' the last song on 'Are you Shpongled?' is perhaps my favourite song of all time...apparently the Shpongle guys were out in India and witnessed a full solar eclipse, and sought to put that experience into a musical form...beautiful song. I recommend the Eclipse album that Simon Posford and Ott put together in honour of this event...
