Art Bin

Migrated topic.
Beacon, that's fantastic. One test of a good composition: zoom in on your phone, scroll around. Anywhere you stop looks great.

I don't know if Jonathan Solter is a member here, but I stumbled upon his work today. Looks like he's "been THERE"; what do you think?

112233, thanks for posting those. Someone had posted that bottom image earlier with no accreditation, and I've been curious about it ever since. Yes, this looks like works by a frequent traveler.

I think i was once where Jonathan went.
I remember that pyramid. (2nd image)

Here is a (weed induced) collaboration work i've done with a friend, a kind of mix and match style.

Whenever we work together it tends to get graphic and ugly/dark pretty fast.
This one here is still pretty harmless... :p

That's a fun piece, with more of a sense of space/depth than your normal work. This is why I live collaborating. I bet you guys can figure out why your other collabs get so dark/ugly and avoid it in the future, as you did here. The thing I like most about it is how you get a sense of a whole lotta stuff going on in the scene, complex and multilayered, but at a glance it still reads.

I've never tried embedding a video before, so we'll see if this works...

Hot off the presses. These turnaround videos are actually 180 fully rendered still photos per revolution, so they take a long time to crank out. This one took (for two turns) just under 20 hours. I just set it up and hit the button before bed, and then hopefully when I wake up the morning, it hasn't crashed my machine in the night. Then I set it up with color and materials the next night and do it again. Usually it works out okay, although ZBrush is very prone to crashing and does with maddening regularity.

Arghh... Can anyone tell me how to embed a video? Do we not support Vimeo?

Art I was just recalling your work yesterday during and Aya experience. Glad to see an update from you :)

Here's a recent work of mine

Art, do you have acess to another renderer?
20 hours sounds too long, even for an high poly mesh.

@Guyomech
With dark and ugly i meant Violence and Horror.
Cyborgs, Robots, Warmachines, Mutants, Zombies, blood, gore and carnage.
Sometimes everything together, truly apocalyptic.

Oh, I don't actually think that's excessive at all. That 16 second video is actually 360 separate renders, and this piece has 62 different subtools and over 38 million polygons in total.

Still, ZBrush is not really built as a state of the art rendering program. It's really intended primarily for sculpting. Eventually, I'll probably migrate to V-Ray and Mental Ray for Maya, but not for sake of convenience. They'll just allow me a lot more control (and by extension much better renders).

cubeananda - Thank you very much. Nice work from you as well.

Painful attention to detail
