Artwork that reminds you of Salvia

Migrated topic.

Recently I've been exploring Salvia quite a bit because I am going to school and almost everyday of the week and I do not have the time or the fortitude to explore any of the longer lasting psychedelics. I've also always been extremely interested in art (drawings, paintings, etc). And since I haven't been able to find a thread or collection of artwork that has a Salvia feel to it, I would like to start a thread! Some of these artworks are eerie, they are just so similar to the Salvia trip that I experienced. Some of these really get to me. :)

These are just some of my favorites that I've found so far. Please post any that you guys may have found and like, I'd love to see more..

Most of the artwork by Mark Maxwell is pretty Salvia-esque and, in my opinion, amazing..

Oh yeah, there it is!!!

I get a reoccurring theme on sublingual salvia. I am usually standing alone in a vast rotating, psychedelic landscape that spirals around, and at the top there is a spiraling energy sucking phenomenon.... or there is a mutual feeding off each other. It's like the salvia world says, "I'll create a universe for you if I can feed off your soul".

I don't really have anything to add. There doesn't seem to be much salvia artwork out there. Most of it is on deviantart.

Yeah, for some reason I get this weird spiraling, spinning wheel thing happening. Like my body flattens and everything I know to exist closes in around me and space and time seem to disappear and it's just hard to describe. It's like my world flattens and sucks me up in its ferris wheel-like rotation.

I found a few pics from deviantart as well as an edot forum post. Thought some of you salvianauts might enjoy some of these as well!

Mark Maxwell is the quintessential Salvia artist IMO. His work is amazing.

Here's a few that also remind me of Salvia, which I received from my buddy burningmouth.

EDIT: Also, my avatar has always reminded me of Salvia. Buses are a common theme during my Salvia trips.

Wow Lucent, the pics in your past post pretty much sum up all the sides of salvia. The first two show the dysphoric side of salvia. The next few show the vivid colors and fantastic landscapes associated with salvia. The next pic, debutartoliverburston38.jpg, shows the alien-ness of salvia visions. And lastly, perhaps the most famous of all salvia visions.... the wheel.

I actually really like this style! This one reminds me of Salvia the most, it always seems like the picture in front of my eyes somehow feels like an illusion on Salvia. I need to look through deviantart for some more in the morning. Any idea what this type of art is called? It's tryppy :)

Thank you, it actually didn't take long to find some decent artwork that reminded me of my Salvia experiences. I have lots more exploring to do with the entheo, so I will be finding lots more artwork because.. well, I love this stuff! :)

EDIT: Before I go to bed here is a piece that I forgot to post! This one really resonates with me, personally. I was a little afraid to open my eyes the first few Salvia experiences. I find them to be more pleasant when I close my eyes, to be honest.

The only style I can come up with that might apply to it is surrealist...

Although surrealist is usually more bizarre.

I have some more Salviaesque pics on my harddrive somewhere, I just have to find them :)

I almost never open my eyes during Salvia experiences, even when I smoke plain leaf. I find it very disorienting...I get dizzy, almost light-headed. Either that, or it's a waste of an experience because I just end up staring at my lamp or some random point in the room.

I've seen this one before (yes, besides being a long time member's avatar...:) ). Who is the artist Dioxippus?

JBArk
I know! I know!

Naoto Hattori

Those Mark Maxwell paintings remind me more of my salvia experiences than any of the others.

AW! Excellent painting, plus I always wondered what kind of avatars were being used on the Nexus. I'm gonna have to find a better one now that I know we can borrow. :)

Actually, I just realized that I didn't read carefully enough. Mark Maxwell's work is very nice, but it isn't the work I was referring to when I made my earlier post. I find the paintings in post #5 to be the most salvia-like.

Anyone know the name of the artist?

Yeah those pics that burningmouth gave me are really eerie. I wish I knew the name of the artist(s), I'll have to ask burningmouth the next time I talk to him.

Here's my favorite Mark Maxwell painting, it gave me chills the first time I saw it:

YES! You're avatar is it! Recently I've been sitting in my shed and doing low doses so the light from outside shines in and it always turns into a crazy picture that's similar to that artwork! The light and doorway just beckons to me and that's how I feel when I see your avatar, great piece! :) Plus I ALWAYS smoke salvia out of my dancing bear water pipe!! It's blue though.. but that's still kinda eerie..

Alright, I figured out who did those surreal works of art and there are MORE! and they are spectacular! I just got back from salviaspace 15 minutes ago and I am really loving these works.

They are by: Rob Gonsalves and I found a gallery he has here

Here are a few of my favorites, as I am looking through them..
