These are a few psilocybin/mushroom related talks from the last two Breaking Convention conferences that may be of interest to some.

Katherine MacLean - Psilocybin & Personality Change

Kilindi Iyi - High-Dose Mushrooms Beyond the Threshold

Roland Griffiths - Experimental Studies of Psilocybin-Occasioned Mystical-Type Experience: Findings and Implications

Robin Carhart-Harris - Using FMRI to Investigate the Effects of Psilocybin on Brain Function

Charles Grob - Psilocybin at End of Life

Simon G Powell - The Prohibition of Psychedelic Mushrooms: A Tale of Parliamentary Fear and Loathing

Kilindi Iyi

That guy is just unbelievable. The first time I heard of him I couldn't believe that someone out there can eat that much. He's like a jedi..I have eaten some large doses..but that is just beyond what I can imagine.

that Kilindi Iyi talk was pretty interesting, albeit way too short. he didn't get a chance to elaborate on a lot of things that seemed really interesting. anyone know where i can find more information on him? i couldn't find much apart from martial arts information.

Kilindi Iyi 's talk is really interesting. I really love his non-new age style.
Hes not messing around, I want to hear more detail about that 30 gram range.
Talk about having your inner strength thing togethor, thats beyond beyond.
He certainly makes a good case for mushrooms.

I love how he says Predator can walk through the room and also that he doesn't seem to dig the Mantis characters.
This is one of the better talks I've seen on the subject in a long time.
Its jammed with very provocative stuff especially the info about Africa.

I really enjoyed Kilindi Iyi's talk, missed it at the conference so really glad they filmed everything. And yeah would have happily listened to him talk more. He's a character! I must say, part of me is now intrigued about his 30g dosage range. Being a martial arts expert, and from his general vibe, he seems like a very solid character, but my curiosity has been awoken a bit, curse my psychedelic hypersuggestibility! I do feel very comfortable with mushrooms, and I think these are the only psychedelic I would consider ingesting a mega dose of. Each mushroom has its own character, cubensis in particular for me. I may work up to this with a good dose of Hawaiian Pan cyans as I'm very comfortable with these.

Interesting he mentioned the praying mantids. I believe it was encounter with space pirate mantids that turned Terrence McKenna off mushrooms for good.

Found the personality change talk really interesting too, didn't get to see that talk either.

I think he mentions this in True Hallucinations. Definitely worth a read. They were attacking his partner with some kind of energy ray, and she was overheating, Terrence had to drag her under a cold shower, sounded pretty heavy!!

Very much appreciated. Kilindi Iyi is very inspiring and courageous in what he is trying to get across. The topics discussed were interesting and somehow he connected a few dots imo. Who can relate to the amount taken? :surprised:thumb_up:

What do you suppose is 'odd' about taking ayahuasca with friends around a fire? This to me seems exciting and sacred. Not sure if I'd keep the fire going during the experience, though. :p

Do people take ayahuasca in a social situation like that? The way he made it sounds was backwards to me. I picture people taking mushrooms and sitting around a fire, I picture ayahuasca as a solo thing. He described it the other way around.

I'm certainly no expert on the matter so I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the traditional ayahuasca ceremonies typically take place in a group setting.

Yes, but they're not all sitting around a fire having a laugh trippin on the coals. His wording made made it sound like it was being used in a party setting and this always confused me since the first time I watched that video. Like mushrooms were the only psychedelic that take you that far.

He also went in to explain that mushrooms were the first because you don't have to make a brew, they are just readily edible... But so is peyote. Yet he didn't say a single thing about mescaline at all.

I didn't get the impression that he was implying anything like that. When he mentioned sitting around a campfire drinking aya, I was under the assumption that he was referring to group-setting ceremonies. He didn't say anything that made me feel like he was undermining or belittling ayahuasca or other psychedelics, though he certainly made it clear that psilocybe mushrooms are his preferred entheogen.

Yes, that occurred to me as well. I'm also curious as to why he made no mention of peyote or mescaline.

sitting around a fire with my friends drinking Aya sounds awesome to me, i would love to do it but i would need some serious persuasion skills to convince my friends it was a good idea

sitting in bed drinking Aya alone also sounds awesome as i dont need any friends:lol:

i think there are many horses for many courses and as long as there is no recklessness i think its all good.

he did seem to favour the mushroom which i think is fair enough, i favour the Magic and would put it way beyond any other substance or method of consciousness alteration and id be pretty surprised if i could be persuaded otherwise.

I thought about the difference between Peyote or Mushroom use.
In the distance past the earth was tropical, right? San Pedro grows in a Desert. So the Mushroom might still have been the first psychedelic to pop up out of the wood work so to speak.

I don't necessarily agree with everything he says, Although it is interesting. Here's another talk I watched
where he mentioned a theory during mushroom drought in which the mushroom instructed people to combine Rue with Acacia.

He also mentions that there is an algorithm recreated from a Mandala which constructed a temple. This blew my mind, can anyone verify the source of this mandala or algorithm?

I can't believe I never found this thread before the other day. It took me a couple of days, but I finally made it through all of them. There is some really good stuff in there. Thanks for sharing, Bancopuma!
