Aya Question

Migrated topic.

I have done a few DMT extractions, And smoked it many times. Ive had wonderful life changing experiences via Vaped spice, some changa joints with friends and so on. My latest extraction has produced sub-standard yields :( (Not sure why, but that's not the point). Anyway I am waiting for my GVG in the mail, and i am haulting further vaped experiences until it arrives.

I have become extremely interested in oral DMT. Pharma or aya are both intriguing and i have read all this forum has to say about both. Recommendations, suggestions, comments, concerns are all welcome, as i believe this experience will be very dear to me, and i would like to get it right. My main question though is this: I have a bunch of caapi leaves from making changa and i was wondering if they would be suitable to use in an aya brew instead of the vine. Most posts and information talk about using the vine, but both are MAOI's correct?

Alright... Given that no-one else has answered, I'll throw in my two cents.

Yes, they are both MAOIs. Now, you do need an MAOI, but you also need enough MAOI to fully inhibit the MAO in your stomach. The way to really figure this out is to find out how much alkaloid is in the caapi leaf by weight, compare it to the vine and calculate how much leaf you will need to achieve a similar experience.

Some people say that the leaves are more active than the vine, and others say the leaves are barely active at all in comparison. I think the fact that the vine trunk itself is the main component in the brew is evidence enough that the leaves aren't as powerful. It'd really take some experimentation on your part to determine if your leaves are up to the task.

So unless you have a pound or so of caapi leaves hanging around, it really is probably worth it to cough up dough for 50-100 grams of vine. At BBB, for instance, it's $18 for 114 grams. Not tooo bad.

I've used leaves to brew a tea before smoking to good effect; but the general advice would seem to be, go for the vine. An article on erowid (sorry, I don't have the link) showed that in fact the leaves often have a higher content of harmine, but little of the other active alks which are more prevalent in the vine.

This caapi leaf tea must have alot of fats and gunk in it?

It might have been fatty-ish, but not too gunky ... it was fine. Tasted good! Was all I had to hand at the time, and it was effective. But I'm sure the vine is a better choice
