Hello,
I have some Banisteriopsis caapi - Extract 30:1 (100 ml from fresh Banisteriopsis caapi vines. ) and a good amount of DMT in freebase form.
Can I mix the two to make a small ayahuasca trip? How can I determine the appropriate dosages?
Is it possible to do microdosing or stronger doses with these ingredients?
Thanks for your help.

AI answer :
Understanding the Ingredients
- Banisteriopsis caapi: This vine contains harmala alkaloids (e.g., harmine, harmaline, and tetrahydroharmine), which are MAO inhibitors. These inhibitors allow DMT to be orally active by preventing its breakdown in the stomach.
- DMT (Dimethyltryptamine): A powerful psychedelic compound that, when taken orally, requires an MAO inhibitor to be effective.
Preparing Your Ayahuasca Mix
- Banisteriopsis caapi Extract: A 30:1 extract means it is 30 times more concentrated than the raw plant material. This makes dosing more precise and potent.
- DMT Freebase: The freebase form of DMT is typically smoked or vaporized, but it can be used orally if combined with an MAO inhibitor like Banisteriopsis caapi.
Dosage Guidelines
Banisteriopsis caapi Extract:
- Light Dose: 1-2 ml (equivalent to approximately 30-60 grams of vine)
- Moderate Dose: 2-4 ml (equivalent to approximately 60-120 grams of vine)
- Strong Dose: 4-6 ml (equivalent to approximately 120-180 grams of vine)
DMT:
- Light Dose: 20-30 mg
- Moderate Dose: 30-50 mg
- Strong Dose: 50-70 mg
Combining the Ingredients
- Microdosing: Typically, microdosing involves taking about 1/10th of a regular dose. For example:
- Banisteriopsis caapi extract: 0.1-0.2 ml
- DMT: 2-5 mg
- Stronger Doses: For a full experience:
- Banisteriopsis caapi extract: 3-4 ml
- DMT: 30-50 mg
Steps to Mix and Administer
- Prepare the Banisteriopsis caapi Extract: Measure out the desired dose and mix it with a small amount of water.
- Measure the DMT: Weigh out the desired amount of DMT using a precise scale.
- Combine: Mix the DMT with the Banisteriopsis caapi solution.
- Ingest: Drink the mixture on an empty stomach for best absorption.
Safety Considerations
- Start Low and Go Slow: Begin with a lower dose to gauge your reaction, as individual sensitivity can vary greatly.
- Set and Setting: Ensure you are in a safe, comfortable environment with a sober sitter present if possible.
- Health and Medications: MAO inhibitors can interact dangerously with various medications and substances. Ensure you are not taking anything that could cause adverse effects.
- Integration: Take time to integrate your experiences, especially if they are profound.
Conclusion
Creating a small ayahuasca experience with Banisteriopsis caapi extract and DMT is possible with careful attention to dosing and safety. Microdosing is also an option for those looking to explore subtler effects. Always prioritize safety and start with lower doses to understand your personal response to the combination.
