Ayahuasca brewing recommendations..

Migrated topic.

Hello people, I have a read a good bit, and have a lot of experience extracting and smoking DMT. I have extensive use in extractions of various substances and have used my fair share. Among my friends I am considered a hard head, or sometimes even crazy. I don't think that is the case, I just have somewhat of a high tolerance for psychedelics and drugs in general. Not a "cheap date" :(

My own DMT experiences have been remarkable. I have reveled in the visual experience, the body sensations, and tried to grasp meaning in the brief but profound experience that comes from smoking DMT. I have enjoyed smaller doses, pushed on to see kaleidoscopic colors with eyes opened or closed, and even until I was feeling a presence, but haven't experienced elves or alien entities. Also, the experience is so fast I can't seem to bring a whole lot back. It's more like a physical release, almost. I feel good afterward, but I don't have any real thought or explanation to hold on to to explain it. Not that it needs explanation, but I am looking for more understanding in this experience.

So I am interested in starting to drink ayahuasca, because from what I understand, it is very healing, and I could conceivably drink it every day for a visionary quest of the ultimate magnitude. Walking other realms, or even transporting myself to anywhere in the universe, I could possibly experience. I know it all sounds fantastical, and like mumbo jumbo, but some people believe this, and I want to experience what they describe, so that I may know for myself, my own feelings about these experiences.

Now, after hanging out in the chat room, I have read the attitude here, and the rules, and am not trying to advocate that anyone tries to do these extended duration experiences, and even I will start at lower doses, and without as much regularity, until I feel comfortable pressing on. I do not seek to portray a cavalier attitude towards the medicine, but I also do not want to be discouraged from pushing further if I feel it is necessary.

With that being said, I am now looking for recommendations on dosing, sources of the best quality plant materials, and information on the different ingredients, admixtures, and experiences that may come from using special brews. I believe I want to start safely and cautiously, and am interested in starting with just some B. caapi, and some P. viridis, for my first brews.

I am interested in hearing opinions on the various different colors of caapi (cielo, yellow, white, red, black), as well as comments on chaliponga (D. cabrerana), or any other admixtures people like to add to their brews for the best effects. I currently have about 88 g of black caapi, but am not sure if that is what I should use for my first experience.

I do have mimosa bark, but would rather make a traditional ayahuasca brew, than drink tannin filled mimosa tea, or extracted DMT with vine. If anyone thinks the vine and some extracted dmt, white, or other, is a worthy first experience, or that it's not any different than viridis, I would love to hear. I am still learning about ayahuasca and I think maybe the traditional ingredients might be the way to go, rather than rue and mimosa, but I am not totally opposed to trying other methods. If anyone knows why I should do anything else, I am open to hearing opinions, but I respectfully will still decide on my own.

Okay, so opinions on caapi, other admixtures, traditional brew, dosage (for a hard head on almost all psychedelics), and a source for these quality materials are what I am after. Also, please keep in mind, I do have 88 g of black caapi and would like to buy enough I can have several experiences, but also am on a budget.

Thanks everyone!

yeah quit talking to yourself nexus! :)

Seriously though welcome aboard. Wishing you the best of luck with Ms Aya. She's a real sweet gal :)

I've started off with brewing 50g's white caapi alone reduced to 300ml after a 3x3 hour boil. I actually quite like the taste.

That's a good place to start then if you're surely comfortable with that add an admixture or maybe a properly weighed dose of extracted DMT.

LOL, yeah about the name, I was trying to think of something easy to remember for this forum, and guess what popped in my head? I am not the most creative person when thinking about names, but I figured maybe this one might be hard to say you hate, here.. :p

Welcome to the Nexus! Definitely feelin' soulfood's suggestion. A solid brew of caapi makes for a fantastic start. Be cool, be well.

Okay, thanks guys, I do have 88g of black caapi. Maybe I'll brew it all up and drink half, see how that feels, then finish the other half if it's not enough. Think that'll be a nice experience for vine only brew? Also, I have read some things about black or thunder caapi, and was wondering if you all think trying just black caapi my first time was a good idea? I have it here and can start brewing it in the morning, focusing on intentions and all that. I did take a couple THH and Harmine capsules before and it enhanced my cannabis buzz when I smoked a bit, but nothing major.. Felt decent. What do you guys think, sound like a plan?

I've only worked with red caapi and cannot comment to the difference. A glance over at the ayahuasca.com forums didn't really show up much reliable information at all.

Your plan sounds pretty good, just remember that if you prepare the brew properly, set aside time for a good two to three hour journey. Play nice!
