Barely got anything from first extraction

I used 50g powdered MHRB and followed no mans tek to a T (minus ammonia wash) and used proper ingredients and barely have any crystals to show for it. The 3rd and 4th pull have nothing and the first two a couple of tiny tiny crystals and a little bit of sticky gunk. All in all got maybe a hit or two. I’m finding it very hard to get them out as they stick to my blade but every little bit is important as I have so little... it appeared there was more before the last bit of Naptha evaporated so maybe it went with it?

I'd like to see the combined weight of your pulls... And pics can be deceiving... But for a 50g extraction that doesn't look too bad.

For 50g of bark I'd expect around 500mg, which I don't think would look like much.

The first two pics were right after taking out of freezer and dumping all the Naptha and the third one was a combined total of what I got from it I’ll post some more pics of the final product here in a second. I’m thinking it’s going to be hard to weigh. I’m having a hard time getting it off my scraper

How long did you sit the naptha in the freezer for, also kinda sounds like you dumped out a bunch of DMT woth your naptha

It sat in the freezer for 12 hours. I poured the Naptha out of the 4 collection jars into a different jar straining through a coffee filter

I put the strained Naptha back in the freezer and it has sat for 12 hours as of now, and has crystals on the bottom. I’m going to let it sit for another 12 hours...How do I make sure I am able to get the most out of it? There’s nothing on the coffee filters like the tek said there’d be. All of it was in the jars and I had a hard time getting it out... should I pour the Naptha out as soon as I take the jar out of the freezer tomorrow and let the crystals in the bottom air dry for a couple hours and then try scraping out? I just feel like I’m missing something important for getting the most out of my extraction even though I followed the tek...

I always let the jars dry before scraping the out. I usually put in front of a fan for couple hours. Try this, when you dump off naphtha over a filter next time, if you jar has a lid, put it upside down with lid on back in freezer for 10 minutes or so. This lets the last few drops settle in lid while crystals stay cold. Then take lid off while jar is still upside down so residual nap dosnt drip back in jar. You can then fan it, or if you fear oxidation, leave uncovered in freezer to fully dry. Another trick you can try is to let some naphtha evap after pull before freezing. This helps concentrate what is in the pull. Hope it works, and I second the comment on trying to weigh it. You should only get about half gram like said, and that is a pretty small amount of product visually. Weight is best way to confirm your yield is in range.

Hey guys thanks for the tips. I ended up putting the used Naptha back in the freezer and wow! I got tons of crystals. I think the problem was that I 1. Poured out most of the DMT and 2. I let the jars dry in the freezer which introduced condensation and made it all gooey. I’m going to weigh it tomorrow when I get my scale. :thumb_up:

Forgot to update you guys. I got a total of 210 mg about half of what to expect from 50g of bark. It was a learning experience and I believe I’d be able to make the most out of another extraction now. I’ve had my first two experiences since this extraction btw. Gonna post a report here soon!

Hi, i'm having the same issue and would like your advice. What did you do after separating the naptha from the soup into the collecting jars?

Take the naphtha out of the soup and put it straight into the freezer for 24 hours. A large flat bottomed glass dish with a sealed lid works best so it is easier to scrape out with a razor blade. Use a pipette to remove the naphtha from the dish the following day so you don't tip any crystals away. once you have dried the crystals and removed you can put the naphtha from the second pull right into the dish and repeat.
