Sounds extreme as a forebarer to any comment I understand granted...
But my experience was so terrifyingly profound & so out of the normal constraints of a dmt trip that I had to find answers as to what I'd experienced, so hopefully you fellow hyperspace travellers can assist my understanding of what went on for me...
I've had dmt in various potencies previously but I purchased a vaaap recently & through people I know had got good reviews effects wise, what I experienced was a 6 day - yes you read right, 6 day experience no word of a lie...
Friday had a loaded 2 hits & was pretty normal both experiences - saw the multiverse argued my case to who I thought was god (the light source at the top of the ring of judgemental entities) Friday night & the unfurling of the universe which was a new one... I asked to see it all & it appeared to be granted... there was a feeling that my questioning brought about the unfurling to be fair in response (I'm genuinely genuinely experienced in hallucinogens so know reality from fiction when either rear their ugly head as well...).
The next night I again hit twice but this time was better no undertone but the same unfurling after me seeking acceptance - the unfurling is like the point of your question taken backwards, your question being almost the reverse point of origin which sets what you see in motion... for example saying 'what the f*cks a bike?' & being taken back visually and physically to the initial thought of the bicycle in the inventors mind... or asking where religion came from and being taken back to... well that's subjective but you get my point...
What I asked for was quite literally 'everything'... what I got was a cosmic unfurling a friend of mine called a cosmic slap from its enormity & it unleashed something that at the time felt like electricity through my body. Every facet of interaction universally - emotional, physical, mental, quantum, string.... it was all f*cking one... there was one energy & i cried no word of a lie for 2 days afterwards...
During which time the feelings hadn't left, I still felt like I was tripping - that clear minded aware tripping it gives you (a sober pissed eh...) my last toke was Saturday night & the feeling didn't leave until the Wednesday when...
I woke up for my day shift & my vision was purple!! Thought with the period of time it had been that it would be a passing feeling so went to work... at work I came up and had an 8 hour experience - yes 8 hours... - which encompassed turning on my come up to a friend and looking at their face and seeing what can only be described as the strings of life - individual pieces of the cosmic soup, particles interacting but still structured by only gravity?? Or something fucking else I didn't cars at that point to be fair as I was at work 4 days after my last ingestion... it then got weird when my surroundings became from the fractals energy fields that were ascending in unison towards something I couldn't see from the purples, pinks, yellows, whites... I could sense someone in amongst the shards of colour & i swear they winked at me before the whole thing imploded to a singularity before almost breathing itself out again... ascension from my body followed this for what must have been 2 hours observing my body's talking to other people & me having no control over what the f*ck I was doing... the trip lasted a further 2 hours & it's changed my life...
Somebody please tell me they've experienced something similar as past the winds of black cosmic dust I was looking for a stop button as it seemed the darkness wanted me...
Holy sh*t it was the most wondrous & enlightening & terrifying & confusing & thought provoking experience of my life...

Hello and welcome,

DMT experiences last only minutes unless mixed with an MAOI. Even then the experience won't last for 6 days unless you re-dosed quite a few times. That being said, your experience seems a bit unusual (probably not unheard of around here) but still unusual. Are you on any sort of medication? Was the DMT extracted by you?

There have been some discussions on the possibilities of flashbacks occurring. Do you think that perhaps that is what was happening? Did you smoke any marijuana? Sometimes it has the ability to bring back the effects of a trip. Waking up with your vision being purple seems odd...and then to come up and peak too throughout the day (having ingested no psychedelics...?) and being at work sounds like that would be quite overwhelming. Keep in mind I have never had anything like this happen to me so I am just throwing out some typically asked questions in unusual situations. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in...?

I found from experience that when one has a ++++ (on Shulgin's scale) encounter with the divinity, a Samadhe unitive encounter with the Godhead, one will have lingering after effects that can actually be quite profound in their visionary capability. That being said, in my personal experience, these were transient and triggered by some external stimuli be it breath or other drugs like marijuana. They are not full on, come up, peak, come down psychedelic experiences.

What you experienced sounds possibly like you are having trouble integrating what you have termed a cosmic slap, and the cognitive dissonance is causing disturbances in your thinking process. Unless you are taking other substances, I can pretty much n guarantee you haven't taken r what the urban folklorists call "permanent acid".

Good luck friend, perhaps allowing this experience to percolate through your consciousness for some time, a process a call silent integration in which one just allows it time without making judgments or decisions regarding the experience, but allows it to find its own place in your life. Alternatively, or concurrently you may want to research books on the mystical experience, but if doing that route be wary of falling into traps of beleif.

I often have psychedelic visions when sober. Been happening for years. Any time I smoke cannabis I will certainly have visuals most people need LSD to get.... Without smoking visuals are still common for me. Almost like a permanent flashback that takes breaks every once in a while....

When I first started seeing things like this I was worried.... But I learned to really appreciate it and enjoy it - most people gotta pay money for this stuff! I think I learned to be very functional even under the effect of psychedelics, so that also helps manage things...

I second/third null24's post. Great words and nothing to worry about excessively IME.

I've had lingering effects of various "potency" for up to a month or so from the last dose. The effects diminished over time. Personally I let it be and just continued my life (such as your work day). Though I would have to "meditate" the visions out before driving at times, for the most part the effects were present yet on a background threshold of my perception. Oddly enough in tune again with null24/Shulgin was a focus on breath, though this may very well vary. You never really know what may come of a DMT trip.

I am honestly happy that there are people out there that can place a coherent sentence together and through solely the power of words put a calmness over you... most insane experience ever & one that through the sustained nature of it I would be wary to revisit if I'm being totally honest... perhaps through time that will mellow as the symptom's pass but wow as an experience... thank you all for your responses and level heads about my quandary it's much appreciated...

I have also found that Shulgin ++++'s can last for days and weeks afterwards, after the initial ego dissolution and corporeal recreation (rebirth) if a person is already on a pure and perfect path (ala Buddhist/Zoroastrian right thought, words, and actions) and I would add right environment and right companions. Our 21st century modern capitalistic culture is rife with fear and addiction, desire and aversion slowly close the chakras and the unity stops. I had one ++++ off 8 grams mushrooms that lasted almost a month, but being in a fast fear driven work environment, with negative music playing and lack of sleep due to coursing spinal energy caused me to relapse into my old kratom habit which allowed sleep but smothered the religious awakening. For 3 weeks I had the feeling of rolling hard minus the dopamine stimulant push and it became hard to drive at points. I believe strongly if I was already retired or in a peaceful job and financially comfortable without ambient lifestyle/cultural fear pervading I would still be there. Morninggloryseed on Bluelight had an Iboga initiated ++++ that he maintained for months if you dig on that forum.

Regarding the OP's experience of losing control of his body and watching it act independantly while in a mystical state look up the Vendanta term Turiya. Here's the definition from wikipedia:

I would say the OP got purified body and soul and got bumped up to this level, which Ramana, Nisargadatta, Papaji, and other Vedantic yogis speak of. The body and mind runs on it's own and you observe from the seat of the soul. Staying at that level will be a great challenge, please update the forum or myself on your continuing development. I'm trying to get back there but I get PTSD everytime I get a ++++ and have a hard time revisiting the experience on the same chemical (i'm mildly fungiphobic now. i'm also LSDphobic and 2C-Ephobic from those ++++'s). I'm trying to get the courage to pull the trigger on a high dose 5-meo-dmt experience to get back there and keep it this time.

Ive always been intrigued by every religion on earth for their individual nuances and similarities of belief (origin story wise, flood wise, the allusion to a creator...) but theres something about this passage that describes what is attained from a person past the 8th path of buddha when nirvana or brahman is attained and what it is...

Now experiences are what i base my reality on - as something tangible is needed as an anchor to any belief to our minds isnt it - but those words (and the countless countless others in the hindu ancient texts obviously lol) and the experience that i had just seem too similar to just be coincidental... Ive often thought that buddhism as well as hinduism are the more spiritually balanced of belief systems. Just a thought after the last post more than anything...
