Beksinski anyone?

Migrated topic.

Zdzislaw Beksinski was a Polish artist who painted nightmares. I consider him to be a highly underrated artist of our time, probably because the subject matter is associated with "goths" and other trite fads. I don't usually go for that sort of thing, but I find Beksinski's work to be powerfully compelling nonetheless. Any other fans here?

I've uploaded some samples. The first one in particular suggests to me that Beksinski was experienced in entheogens - it reminds me of ego death.

Love his art, I'm attaching my favorite. I came across Beksinski through dark ambient / drone music. His art reflects exactly this deep mystery of our consciusness. Thanks for the thread, dromedary!

A huge inspiration and one of my top 5 favorite artists.

So that's where you get your hands!

Haha perhaps so? I've always had a thing about extra limbs and polydactylii (extra fingers and suchlike). Beksinski touched down on it, and so did Giger. Beksinski is like giger crossed with francis bacon, damn fine combination.

YES!, i was lucky enough to see an exhibit of his work in Sanok, in Poland a few years ago. I particularly liked the one where people are living in their own little seperated island.
There was a lot of impact to his work, and i left very impressed at his creative ability.

-Thanks for posting this. 8)
