Best acid for Rue extraction?

I'm thinking about the Rue extraction from the stickied thread above which uses Phosphoric Acid. From the thread:

This method using phosphoric acid gives a highly separable salt of harmaline (almost insoluble in concentrated solutions) which will precipitate as needles far sooner than harmine and can easily be filtered off for separating the alkaloids.

I know that DMT salts all have their own properties (like DMT Fumarate not turning to a sludge like others) so I'm wondering if the same is true with Harmine/Harmaline. Is Phosphoric the preferred form, or are there others that work for the tek listed? The level of purity in this tek intrigues me, from a purely hypothetical standpoint of course. =)

Out of curiosity I looked around for various sources of Phosphoric Acid, but the only ones I found were ~81% (didn't find anything food-grade). Would this be acceptable or would a higher purity of PA be needed? I have a friend that is interested in trying the Rue extraction, but he can't seem to find the information he is looking for.

you dont need any acid. its completely soulable in water. acid just makes it taste bad. use ammonia for washes! you can get VERY clean crystals with ammonia washes.
