I just finished the first half of my first ever extraction and poured off the naptha and have that freeze precipitating. The jar that had the solvent in it has a thin layer of spice crystals that looks like its going to turn into goo, which is okay, but now I need to figure out how to get the material out of the bottom of the mason jar, which I couldn't find for the life of me on the site. Any suggestions?

or, if it's such a small amount of spice that you're worried it won't recrystalize, you could just add some boiling water to liquify the spice, and then use that water for an oral trip.

If you're worried there's some naphtha mixed in, then let the water evap entirely. There should be some goo left at the bottom. Then add boiling water and drink that. If there is any significant amount of spice there, it will turn to powder, or possibly even some crystals when it dries. If there's barely anything there, it will just be a very thin sticky layer at the bottom, which probably isn't even enough for a single trip anyway.

I've only donw one extraction in the past but I scrapes it out with a metal spoon (though I've had a rubber spatula recomended too) before pouring any of the solvent away, then pour it all through a coffee filter to catch the crystals. Then I found putting a fan on a low setting aimed into the filter with a weight sitting inside it to hold it open and stop it blowing away had it all dry in about an hour or two :)
