BLAB - pull with naptha first or just go straight for Limo pulls?

BLAB really is a fine, fine tek.AFAIK, d-limonene will give a 'full spectrum' product ie DMT plus small amounts of other alkaloids; pulling with naphtha will not pick up the desirable non-DMT 'goodies' as well as the d-limo.I just go straight for d-limo pulls to mop up the lot, and the end product has never been a disappointment.
I also have found that doing the tek even more slowly than outlined in the Wiki (ie vinegar/bark soak for 7-10 days, letting each addition of d-limo do its job for a couple of days before pulling) has given yields of over 2%.I may have been blessed to have particularly good MHRB, but the slothful rather than leisurely approach involves no more work and ,IME, makes a great tek probably more efficient still.

Excellent news! Cheers CC... I have soaked in vinegar for ~1 week instead of 3 days, and am going to allow to basify for 24 hrs before doing my first pulls, so hopefully I will get a decent yield...
Do you use FASI or vinegar? My fumaric hasn't arrived yet. Grrrr. Guess I can just set the Limo aside until it arrives yeah?

I may be biased since I helped with photos and explanations, but I think its a great tek 
I dont know if the vinegar soak indeed increases yields, I havent heard of a side by side with simple STB vs having a vinegar soak before. Personally the last times I extracted I did an A/B with limo pull and FASI, so not quite BLAB but similar, also because I use a separatory funnel which would not really be good with STB, and I always get great yields too.
If you do FASI, I suggest letting the limonene sit for a while (few hours/day) before adding the FASI, so that any remaining droplets of water goes to the bottom and you can remove it before adding FASI, otherwise you get a goo on the bottom appart from your crystals.
As for your title question, forget naphtha, there is no need for it. If you do FASI and then convert to freebase with water crystallization, you can get a product as pure as a naphtha pull (nice white crystals) without resorting to petrochemicals, it smells milder/earthier (a proof that some of the sharp smell from DMT comes from petrochem traces and not from DMT itself), and is much easier on the throat IMO

Basically the difference in FASI vs FASW (or vinegar or xylene evap/jungle) is the presence in missing tiny amount of MHTBC and another probable betacarboline in FASI. The thing is, both are in such small amounts in FASW/etc that I find it hard to believe they would have any effect at all on the experience. I think most likely pharmacologically it would be insignificant and that any difference is more placebo than anything else. But again, this wasn't really properly blind tested so far to really give an absolute answer.
In any case you could always do FASI, let it crystallize for a week or two, then after retrieving your fumarates, wash your limonene with water, which would get any left over DMT, plus IPA, plus excess fumaric acid, plus these other beta carbolines, plus other plant impurities. So if you evap that, it would be a 'dirtier' FASW, but you could do it just for the sake of getting the max out of your solvent, and you could try purifying it later on if you want with a number of ways depending on what you want (maybe and bioassaying it crude, and/or re-a/bing, and/or doing bufoman's water purification of fumarates, and/or recrystallizing with IPA, etc)

So I have been adding my FASI nice and slowly, a few ml every 30 mins or so, left it over night and there is now condensate sticking to the sides - is this my DMT fumarate?
Also I've added moar FASI and it's still going cloudy, is this a sign there are still goodies to collect? Should I keep adding FASI until there is no moar clouding? When should I stop?!

You're doing good
Keep adding till it stops cloudying. Dont worry because excess FASI does not hurt at all, the fumaric acid and IPA excess will just stay in solution, only dmt fumarate precipitates.

Purges..did you use "myspicesage" for fumaric? they were quick for me..even from the other coast! If you cook they got alot of good spices too. i love chewing on cinnamon bark, lol
