Black spots on plant

Migrated topic.
I will do just that. I have given it some water today so the soil is still a bit moist, so i will try the misting in a few days. I am not giving up on it yet.

Thanks for the advice. It looked like it was doing fine before I removed it from the bag... Very bad idea indeed :(

Just like you said it would Vodsel.
Little sprouts have come out.

Any suggestions as on how to go about it further?

Sally is a survivor :) Specially if there is a decent root system below.

The soil looks fine, make sure it doesn't dry and keep the plant in the bag to ensure humid environment. If what you're doing these days allowed her to give new sprouts, stay that way and they'll grow. You can mist a little the inside daily, without soaking the little leaves too much. Other than that, keep her at a nice temperature (15-25ºC) and give her as much light as possible, other than direct sunlight, and she'll slowly grow back.

Just a little update: the plant seems to be doing great. Was just wondering when I should water it? Should I just wait until the soil is more dry cause it has remained pretty moist for the last few days.

Thanks a lot for all your help by the way...

I'm glad, good job :)

Just don't allow the soil get too dry. And when you water, you might try watering from below with moderate amounts of water (check this and this post right afterwards). You won't pack the soil and will stimulate root growth.

Congrats

The idea is changing the plant environment as gradually and slowly as you can.

This means that it basically depends on the humidity you have normally in that room, assuming the temperature inside and outside the bag is the same (it will be, if the plant does not have heating below). You will have inside of the bag easily a 80-90% humidity, so the adaptation time should be as long as the difference between that and the outside humidity.

If you have a thermo-hygrometer you can find out in a second. I can get one in the dollar store for around 10$, so it might be a good thing to have. Then, you have to options:

- Removing the bag for an hour once a day for a few days, then twice a day (or once two hours) and so on. Keeping the process as long as it takes, but I would extend it for at least a month. And if you have to leave for more than a day, just leave the bag on.
- Making a little hole a day in the bag.

By doing this, you can largely prevent the brown ridges in leaves. They are not fatal, but they take leaf space and are prone to expand.

In any case, take your time, make sure the stress is progressive. Keep in mind, though, that if the overall change of humidity is important, you might need to give her a light misting a couple times a day once the plant is spending most of the day out. And if the leaves (particularly the new ones sprouting) appear more small and sturdy, don't worry. It's normal, the plant slowly adapts her morphology to differences in the atmosphere.

My plant has developed the black spots again...
It was doing fine for the last few months, until recently I saw the spots again which seem to have spread really quickly this time.

I'll be posting pics as soon as I can, but would appreciate some suggestions.
