Hello, I recently extracted dmt from 50g of acacia confusa and I got a reddish waxy goo. I tried smoking it, its definitely active. The only problem is that when im holding in the hit, I feel a sharp prickly numbness on my fingers that makes me want to exhale sooner (thinking it might be a dangerous effect of some impurity). It felt like a really edgy 5 minute shroom trip though when I smoked it, but I was still seeing things semi clearly (not the out of this world experience that Terence Mckenna describes).

Is this numbness/pain normal? Its the only feeling that keeps me from taking another hit and its quite uncomfortable feeling (like walking on a leg you slept on).

This doesn't sound right to me at all. I would definitely try to clean that up a bit if it were me, but we all react differently. Have you experienced anything like this before?
Can you tell us a little about your process and materials?

I used Cybs hybrid tek with 50g of ACRB powder and this is my first time trying DMT. I think the part that might have been messy was the solvent seperation with a turkey baster (I used a syringe). I sucked in some of the basified mixture and waited for it to settle out. I noticed that the seperation didnt resemble oil seperating water, it was actually more like a powder that settled to the bottom of the syringe (not liquid). I did my best to keep those two layers seperate, but there may still be traces of the base mixture in there. Should I try an acetone wash even though its a gooey substance?

Another thing, there was some floaties in the naphta when I sucked it out the frozen dishes. I tried to filter out some floaties with a coffee filter but im a little confused as to how to get the dmt off the coffee filter too.

I saw a post about how isopropyl recrystalizes ACRB DMT, so I dissolved all my goo in alcohol then sucked it up in a syringe, then squirted it pack out onto a clean dish with a piece of coffee filter obstructing the needle (I used to do this for purifying other substances that are cut with stuff that doesnt dissolve in alcohol). I dont know if this was necessary but it looked alot cleaner and its now outside drying. Could I possibly use some vinegar in the saturated isopropyl alcohol solution to neutralize the base in the naphta and wait for it to dry out?
