New research explaining the eye-ear connection.

It appears to vary with population, with musicians seeming to have stronger connectivity between the two.

If they are connected people can sense sound when watching certain images or movements, for example this one. Example image is attached below (you may need to click it activate movement).

One question that comes up is, do psychedelics affect this connection? Above is a survey for those in the community interested in this effect.

"We were also interested to find that, on average, participants with visual ear performed better on both visual and auditory tasks than those without. Perhaps their audio-visual cooperation benefits performance because more of the brain is engaged in processing visual stimuli.

"Such cooperation might also benefit musical performance, explaining why so many of the musicians we tested reported experiencing visual ear."

Title of research: "Hearing through Your Eyes: Neural Basis of Audiovisual Cross-activation, Revealed by Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation."

Sober: I didnt hear anything when i saw the picture (moving) but i think i have the imagination to guess what sound it would create (my mind, creates a sound that i imagine i would hear, but i actually hear nothing, when i see the image).

However i think if a person was born deaf he/she wont be able to even imagine what sound this image would create. But thats my opinion, nothing more.

"Hearing through Your Eyes"
I think this is very likely possible, i remember reading a book where a guy had child unfortunetly born without ears and he put all his energy time/effort etc. to make sure his child wont grow deaf and he made everything possible (teaching his child to hear sounds + powerfull hearing aid) the child eventually was able to hear normally without ears, while the doctors said at first (when the child was born) that he would be deaf his whole life. And when the child grew older it started a bussiness with the same hearing aid and is now inspiring people with hearing/deaf problems. Inspirational story.
Or the blind people that see via echolocation.
This world is bizzare and amazing.
Nice post, looking forward it!

Okay that was weird. I am totally sober and have been for quite some time, three weeks maybe? I "heard" a sound, but it seemed more like perception than actual hearing. I know there should be a sound so I must've used my prior knowledge to interrupt the thud, pretty much what Th Entity said.

I love this phenomenon. It's strong for me, I've looked at a few things and heard lots of stuff :p and I hear a distinct cronch with the funny pylons this evening.

Will bookmark this to test and report in various states of consciousness.

I checked at the end of a mushroom trip and could not notice a difference vs. sober. With the little data we have so far seems like they may be nothing here. Thank you to those who voted, and I hope the one guy figured out what to do with his new tenant. Lol.

Coming down off 250mics 1plsd and 80mg 6-apb, I don't notice any difference in the effect. The moving image seems much funnier than usual though

Thanks! This contributes to our gross check. Seems like no enhanced eye-ear connection from psychedelics is the first order observation.

ive heard about hearing trough smells before with the rising of people wearing breathing masks

but not trough eyes

cool it does seem to make a rumble sort of sensation similar to maybe hearing it
