Caapi, herbal percolator, dosage, body load

Hi!

I have few questions about Caapi brew alone without adding DMT.

I tried Caapi brews about 12 times by now. I always used high doses of Caapi 100g via regular boiling method.

Recently I discovered Herbal Pecolator extraction method and I was interested in fact that it could be 10x more potent than regular boiling method and Pecolator could make Caapi active even at 10g.

I wanted to test THP method and try Caapi brew alone. I was suspicious about 10g Caapi dosage so I reduced my dose of Caapi just to 50g and extracted it via percolator. How fool i was!!!   The dosage of Caapi turned out to be extremely high. I've got the most extreme body load I ever had in my life. Extreme nausea. Extreme never-ending vomiting. Extreme dissociative effects. Extreme sound hallucinations. It was hell and I was just laying down and waiting for that "trip" to end - but the next day I felt incredibly good and it shows that even if Caapi could be harsh - it has great healing effect.

Next time I lowered my dose of Caapi brew to 37g, extracted via percolator. Much less than before - but still high body load, dissociation, sound distortions, but not so much nausea and very light 1-time vomiting.

What I want to ask is what if I reduce the dose to 20g to avoid that harsh body load (I think body load would affect my trip in not so good way, it makes me depressed and emotionless) - would it still allow DMT to work at full power?

Am I right that if I feel high body load + sound distortions + visual trails + some kind of heavy mental depression = Caapi dose is quite high and it could be reduced?

I remember my most powerful aya trip (caapi+mhrb via regular boiling method) - there was no body load at all, the trip was very light and blissful.

PS: By the way first time I did percolator-extraction with plastic bottles as it was described in the THP tutorial, but next time I did it in a Coffee Maker, like this one - and I will always do it in Coffee Maker from now on because it's much more convenient. Just fill it with water, press the button and see how clear brown liquid fills the pot :) It works exactly the same way as bottle-THP method.

Interesting.

So when using the coffee maker, how much Caapi powder do you use, and how many litres of Caapi tea do you make, before reducing it? BTW, the nausea may be related to tannins extracted with hot water...

In contrast, the HP works with warm water and is believed to extract less tannins, (of course at the price of taking a long time and necessitating lots of water and long reduction times.)

Getting more traditional; Boiling powdered Caapi it's likely 3x 30 minutes is probably good enough. Actually, one wonders if boiling is even necessary with acidified water?

> If you're experiencing bodyload it's likely either too strong, loaded with tannins, or both.

I'm doing everything the same as in THP tutorial. It says to use 150ml of distilled water per 1 gram of caapi + some vinegar to lower pH to somewhere between 3-4. But last time I was making 37 grams of Caapi which should be 5.5 liters of water - but after 5.5 liters I found that liquid coming from shredded caapi still has gold color so I continued to 10 liters until the liquid became almost clear. I think it's better to follow the color, not the 1g x 150ml rule.

Only one difference is that I'm using Coffee Maker instead of bottles and there's very hot water in Cofee Maker instead of warm/cold water as in THP method. The brew seems to go out VERY strong. It's so strong that next time I'll try 20g instead of 37g which I tried last time and it was too strong. Yes there are a lot of tannis/sediment appearing after reducing (I'm reducing the brew from 10 litres to 100ml). In the beginning the liquid is very clear but then sediment starts to fall out. I drinked all the sediment last time but nausea was very light and vomiting was easy, 1 time.

If you're experiencing bodyload it's likely either too strong, loaded with tannins, or both.
thanks, I was thinking the same. And I heard that you shouldn't throw out sediment from Caapi brew because it contains the magic.

Yep, that's the price you pay when you want best extraction, although in the end it isn't really efficient when it comes to 'reduction'.

Yes, that refers to the 'reduced' brews, because the sediment is mostly harmalas that the smaller water volumes can't hold, so they 'crash out'.

Update:
Tried 20g Caapi brew this time. Same brewing method with Coffee Maker. And it was awesome - no body load, very high and happy state of mind, and the dosage was active enough. BUT! My wife have taken the same 20g dosage and she was feeling the same bad (or even worse) as I when I've taken 37g! So looks like it's true that bad effects from Caapi are not only because of brewing methods and dosage but also because the body adapts (heals?) to Caapi with time. Last time I've tried Caapi was 1 year ago so that's probably one of the reasons I was feeling so bad during first tries in this year.
