Cacti identification

Migrated topic.
They're Lophophora williamsii plants. Sure. But they were pretty expensive, as I see... Their "normal" price should be the half or less of that 11 euros.

Well here in the U.S.A. they go for like $30 a button! So...

I think that's a pretty good price!

Thanks for the identification.

And yes, I found a dutch supplier who sells them for about 40,- EURO per TEN pieces and they are also of flowering age.

I tought L. williamsii is illegal in the USA... except for the members of the NAC... Well, in Middle East Europe, this price counts as expensive. I can buy 4-5 cm diameter flovering plants for 2-4 euros here.

Hello cacti lovers.

One of the cacti I bought a few months back has started flowering. Maybe we now finalize the identification of this cactus for good?

p.s. It is really beautiful to see it flower. As soon as the sun start shining the flower opens and when it gets colder it closes again, you can actually see it opening and closing very slowly.

How beautiful!

I am inclined to say this cactus is Lophophora williamsii or Lophophora williamsii var. decipens or Lophophora decipiens ,but there is no way to really know for sure without DNA testing. It's differently in the williamsii aggerate tho!

Isn't it wonderful growing cacti?

The rib pattern is what had me confused.... they are not the typical williamsii rib pattern, that why I said it may be Lophophora williamsii var. decipens or Lophophora decipiens.

However I can say for certain that it is in the williamsii aggerate.

I hate to just throw this anywhere, but I am curious if anyone can help me with identifying? The first picture is one that I feel could possibly be diffusa? Or maybe that could be the ID on the 2nd picture?

I tried an app and it keeps telling me it is peyote or possibly some blue myrtle cactus? Which I really am not sure because upon taking a ID picture for the 2nd picture on the left, came up with the same two so really just not sure!!

I definitely picked this assortment out because they looked ever so closely to the beautiful cacti in question, and the funny part was that a few older grandmothers had approached me while I was looking at which seeds to purchase in the store (my main reason to go there was for more MG, Chamomile, passionflower, and cali poppy seeds)...I had this pot of cactus 🌵 already in my hands as it was a pleasant surprise when I walked in!! Anyways, the sweet older ladies smiled and said have a good time!!! So thoroughly confused! Haha.

Neither of those is a loph. The first one seems to be a very nice monstrose/cristate specimen of Myrtillocactus geometrizans (Blue Myrtle cactus, indeed) if the few spines are anything to go by. The second one is found quite frequently in cultivation, and appears to have a couple of flower buds developing, even if the species name temporarily escapes me. Lovely little display bowl, but that ID app of yours sucks

Yes the app does suck I agree!!

Thanks for the responses and wow looks like it will flower beautifully! Had a strong feeling it was not loph but all good!
