Hey guys, good to be here :D.

So,I'm 21 years old, interested in studying psychoactive substances. I have somewhat of a background in biochemistry, having studied it in my freshmen year. I'll write an essay about myself sometime later.
My questions are:

1. I recently bought a San Pedro Grow Kit. I planted the seeds yesterday, following different guides I came upon on the web. I'm not sure about the lighting. Do I need to keep it in light 24h in a row or should I occasionally switch off the lights to get going a day/night kinda thing? And should I use fluorescent lights or normal bulbs (I read that it's not a good idea to place your growing kit nor your young seedling in direct sunlight)?
And the temperature is another thing: my room temperature is about 22-25 Celsius degrees. But do I need to directly heat my growing kit (with an electric blanket or so)?

And my second question is regarding some Mimosa Hostilis root I just got. It's about 30g. I'm preparing to extract the spirit molecule BUT... this will be my first extraction ever. What chances do I have in ruining it and should I use it all, or split it to see whether I get it right first?

Hello, I can't help you for the cacti growing.
But for the mimosa extraction, I would advise you to do it all in one extraction.
30 grams is not a lot. If you study as many teks as you can and fellow one that your understand fully. There is no reason you will mess it up.
Chances are very low.
Even if you do something wrong, don't through away anything before you are sure you have collected the spice.
We will help you if you need.

Good luck.

I've read some extraction techniques but I still need to get a couple of things before I start.
Could I use this same amount to make ayahuasca? Or just stick to DMT, since I'll be a first time user of both.

Anyone about the cacti?

If you want to do a caapi + mimosa hoasca, you can spare three grams of mimosa, it will be enough for a dose or even say 5 grams for two poeple.
You'll have 25 grams to extract dmt from which a better number regarding extraction ratio (generally speaking about 50 grams or 100 grams MHRB).

No clue about the cactus. You might contact the user pau who seems to possess a great deal of knowledge regarding trichocereus species.

Regarding the MHRB I concur with r0m's advice. Have you considered ordering more? If you get a 1% yield (and most people report greater than that) that's 250 mg Spice which could be 10 solid doses with proper smoking techniques, especially if you combine with Caapi or make changa. Either way don't throw anything out until you've got a nice pile of shiny crystals.

I wouldnt use any artificial lights if I was you. I did that and it made my cacti grow all skinny, basically stretching more than growing, rendering them useless for mescaline content. they grow much healthier and fatter now just in a window without any extra lighting, even in the winter.

Fractal, thanks, I just put it beside my window - not in direct sunlight, I have some really thin shades covering the windows, there's plenty of light, just not direct light. This is the third day by the way. Also, did you use a heating source?

And regarding the DMT extraction, should I use a weak acid, lice acetic acid, or should I try to find a strong one - H2SO4 or HCl? I have some friends who work daily with strong acids so it shouldn't be that hard to get.

^^no need for strong acids at all. 5% white vinegar works perfectly. besides its food-safe, so that's definitely the way to go imo

Some time ago i had both my cactus, one Peyote and one S.Pedro, in my indoor green house, together with my flowering plants - 12 hrs light, and i must say the results were amazing. The S. Pedro had an excellent groth rate and the peyote also grew very good and began to florish :D. Fractal if u were having bad results for your cacti i supose you were not giving them enough lumens or you had fluorescent or tungsten light bulbs too far away from them...
The light I was using was a Son-T Agro 400w, wich provided the best results and for sure this light will keep your baby in the best conditions but it is very very expensive, both to buy and upkeep and has to be changed every 8 monts or so. Also produces A LOT of heath and you would have to think about cooling systems.
So my point is... unless you are thinking in growing a lot of cacti or a lot of other plants together with you S. Pedro just don´t bother about artificial light and let nature do her job ;)
Don´t worry about temp, as long as they are kept indoors there should be no problem.

You got me searching.. Was intrieged by the optimal temp for germinating your seeds and found this
"Most cacti germination temperatures should be around 70 degrees. Peyote should be around 80 - 90 degrees. " Fahrneight.
So i would check the temp inside your grow box and adjust it accordingly.
Also found in Erowid that if u r growing indoor you should get your cati in vegetative growth in as much direct light as possible, since they are inside there is no possibility of over exposure.
Check theese out, they might help u

And Heaven opened. I just got up and found that I have one little precious seedling! I'm so proud to be a father :d .

I'll be posting some pictures as soon as a couple of others pop-up.
Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.

I put it in my window and I removed the shades so it got a handful of direct sunlight. It germinated two days after I put it in the light.
