I've had some tea from a couple feet of bridgessii in the fridge for a couple months now, it was in a mason jar and the lid was really stuck tight when I opened it so it seemed sealed well.
The problem is that it smelled like death when I first opened it, now that it aired out it doesn't smell as bad but it's still not the best smelling stuff.
Is it safe to consume? It has no mold or anything but I'm a little worried it may have spoiled.

if it smelled bad, the flesh has spoiled
the actives will be fine, but i wont suggest eating foods past expiration.

re-boiling could make it safe to consume,(botulism is rare they say....) but still yuck!
i'd save in the frezer for future extraction, or boil/filter until resin

C. botulinum needs anaerobic conditions, which were obviously not present.

If it smells bad, trust your animal instinct that allowed our ancestors to survive and just don't eat it.
If I were you, I would either discard it or perform an A/B extraction. This is the only way to be sure you are not ingesting toxins of any kind.

Thanks, I'll probably end up discarding it but if I do consume it I was planning on boiling it down further just incase.
Luckily it wasn't a large amount to begin with, I can deal with the loss.
