Research Canary reed grass & bundleflower

Research done by (or for) the DMT-Nexus community
These 2 plants are abundant and in my living area. I am going to try my best to document as much relevant information as i can.ANY ADVICE on what I should write down and journalize would help me. Here are the plants scientific names Desmanthus illinoensis(Bundleflower) &
Phalaris arundinacea (Reed Canary Grass).

Hi @puddlerollingfreakz,

It would be great to see more work done on Desmanthus - there hasn’t been a lot of follow up on its alkaloid content. Have you tested any of the desmanthus species for alkaloids/do you cultivate it? And likewise for phalaris arundinacea?

There’s a lot of great work being done on phalaris at the nexus which you can find threads about in the collaborative research/plant and substance testing sections.

Also it would be best to embed these images in your posts rather than using screenshots from your phone, as the quality will be better and allow readers to observe finer details. Links to literature also would be great or you can quote various sources in your post. It is more engaging that way..

What aspects of these plants are you hoping to cover in the thread?

Identification keys, links to info on cultivation, extraction, articles on alkaloid findings would all be good stuff to cover I think.

Yes, that bit that @acacian said about using embedded links is probably the most important thing that will help you to advance with your studies in this area. If you have record of the websites where you found this information it becomes a lot easier to organise and collate it.

It is also helpful to other people when information is included in text form for copying and pasting without having to resort to character recognition software or typing it out by hand.

Online scientific literature nowadays has the particularly useful feature that, in addition to linking to its references, any given paper will (often) also have links to subsequent papers by which it has been referenced. It's great how it allows one to look forwards now, and not just backwards as in the days of paper journals.

Have you checked our other phalaris and desmanthus threads? It may be useful to gather the information on the two very different genera separately.

No I'm not cultivating either but the Reed canery grass(Phalaris arundinacea L) is a invasive species and abundant in my area. I would like to contribute trusted information about both plants. Illinois Bundleflower (Desmanthus illinoensis) is a little harder to find in nature around me. I will use y'all's advice and also I haven't checked out those threads. I will tho.
Thank you for your support and advice.
pUD (for short name lol)
