Changa without Harmalas-Freebase?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and would like to consume changa. My only problem is the harmala extract.
I don't trust myself to do the extraction... I think it's too difficult for me chemically. Besides, there are too many instructions that say different things.
Is there a way to simply smoke or eat the syrian rue seeds and then smoke the magic plant material? Or what is the best alternative?

A lot of people take the Rue ahead of the spice, either orally, sublingually, or smoking. Since you don't need to orally activate spice, many seem to like sublingual for less side effects. I personally always smoke my Harmalas before the deems. Yes, you can just smoke Rue seeds. They are kinda woody and thus a bit harsh, though. A simple water extract will improve that a lot. Boil the seeds in water, drain, add water and boil again, repeat. Combine all the water and boil down. When nearly all the water is gone, pour into a tray to finish drying to a goo.
 
Crushed seeds will work a little better than whole seeds, whereas powdered seeds risk clogging the mixture somewhat, which can make it harder to draw through when smoking, depending on the choice of leafy material and how you blended it. Get that right, however, and powdered seeds are more than acceptable, imo.
