Hey Nexus! A bit odd' posting this but seems it is not against the rules.
I'm figuring out how to clean up good ol' dimenhydrinate. As far as I understand, this is combination of =~50% diphenhydramine with rest 8-chlorotheophylline, a chlorinated derivative (e.g. caffeine).
What would be the best way to clean/wash 8-chlorotheophylline from dimenhydrinate which would result in pure diphenhydramine.
Current set:
* A few packs of Aviomarin* in crushed [powder] form
* Dissolve DHT powder in water and non-polar solvent (e.g. naptha, n-hexane ..)
* Prepare & add equimolar ratio of base to the solvent
* Stir above mixture for few hours
* Evap**
Few tips told me, instead of evap, adding hydrochloric acid might may cause diphen* to precipitate.
Any other methods; can you confirm above procedure? [all info taken from interwebz and prior dmt x)
