Compelled to build an Enlightening Device.

This device won't "enlighten" you, I don't think, but it was the first thing that came to mind when I read this thread. I plan on buying one soon

The Dreamachine

It spins at a certain speed right? 78 or 45 revolutions per minute to be exact.
With this exact speed the frequency of light flashes triggers a vividly visual hypnagogic state with Rapid Eye Movement.
Could this have anything to do with endogenous DMT?

Another thing I would like to know.
What is the force that keeps different atoms together to form molecules?

Perhaps it can be used to create a generator.

PS: When I say a device that enlightens, it is to be taken in the broadest sense possible. No per se some waves that bring instant enlightenment(silly I know). It could be an entirely new, sustainable power source. Power independance. That would be very enlightening. Or it could be anything that could in any sense enlighten us as a species.

Good point Felnik. SWIM defenitely will. He's currently still quieting his mind and training to become more Present in the Now. Something DMT experiences urged him to do in his latest experiences some time ago.
Has AnySWIM else been shown so explicitly, such devices by entities encountered in DMT visions? It was almost as if "they" wanted SWIM to look at it very closely and absorb the image as much as possible. Unlike most DMT visions, which are usually chaotic, warping at light speed and shortlived imaged that rapidly and endlessly transform in other images, SWIM found that this device was shown in a very patient, clear and lengthy vision of it. Very still, very clear like they were saying "Now take a GOOD look at this"

Supposedly, quartz crystals have the capability to hold much more information than any other method we have now. Like millions of gigabytes on a tiny piece. Maybe you can create a device that can write data to and read data from a quartz crystal (or DMT:d ). Perhaps through the use of 6 lasers (as per you hexagonal vision) all focused to a single adjustable point so it can write data to different depths within the crystal.

I reckon I can not equal nature by trying to build some kind of mechanical brain or decoding all information stored in crystals.
I'm merely trying to let intuition lead me, hoping the resulting creations will be more of a catalyst for great positive change. To speed up a process that's allready ongoing, by alligning with it.
Mescaline is marvelous enough of a device on it's own. Never theless did Shulgin create excellent tools to explore consciousness with, by tampering with the molecule's structure, adding or removing different elements. He was compelled by intuition as well, not really knowing what was going to be the result. I reckon we all should dare to let our intuition run wild more, uninterrupted and unopressed by our Rationale. At least just for once, to see what happens.

In the meanwhile a Curiosity has arisen as to what would happen if NN,DMT( As well as 4 HO-DMT, Mescaline, 5-MeO-DMT..etc) in a solution was to be subjected to electrolysis.
Perhaps the Hexagonal device could somehow be helpfull with this or perhaps it has no connection.

No, my wife teaches anatomy and told me that. But I did a quick search and came up with this. The sunlight actually suppresses the production of melatonin which allows serotonin levels to rise.

I would like to think of an enlightment machine as something of a sort of hug machine, or someway to reproduce only the feeling you get on dmt when it really welcomes you, and you can feel it sort of hug you and hug your soul. where you feel loved by the universe.. maybe someway of reproducing that, or simply a machine you could get into that would gently squeeze your body, at the same time maybe add a scent to the environment, a scent that the user picks out, a scent that means something important to them. I think spiritually a hug machine that gives you your favorite scent could be used weekly or daily to overall improve your mental status and spiritual place in the universe. it would provide a grounding experience like a loving hug, without needing a loved one there, or having to settle with hugging someone you have bad history with.

@ Lodi. The machine you describe does exist: Isolation tanks. Sensory deprivation for significant amount of time dissolves all barriers.
It makes you one with all by making the mind dormant with sensory deprivation. Pretty much an embrace with the universe. An isolation tank is indeed one way of getting there, allthough a rather individualistic, solitairy one. I have thought of such machines too. My idea had been to build a small geodesic dome, just large enough to sit in. A little ventilation hole in the top that can be opened by the pull of a rope. Subtile geometric patterns on the inside of the canvas covering the dome. The floor should be a large mirror to create the visual impression of a full, hollow sphere. If one would sit on a pillow in the center of that dome, burning insence made from psychoactive herbs & plants while alternating between periods of chanting and periods of meditation in silence this would be quite transcendental.

When seeking to expand awareness in people, especially in groups, temples with little visual distraction and the signing/playing of mantras have allready proven to be powerfull tools. So architecture could help making the geodesic dome accessible for groups, by building this dome on a large scale so that many people could chant & meditate inside this structure.
Now what could technology add to the expansion of awareness, especially in groups? What device or contraption could be the cherry on the topping of that dome-temple?



Remember people, when I say enlightenment it may be any form of enlightenment. It could be stumbling uppon new analogues of psychedelic compounds like Shulgin did. It could be the invention of free, simple, non toxic, completely sustainable powersource. Don't narrow "enlightenment" down to a direct, entheogenic/mystical experience which catalyses transcendance beyond Ego. It could be any device that could be considered "enlightening" in any sense.


SWIM's Cat decided that the very next time she is in the luxurious position to waste a gram of perfectly fine, NN,DMT,
she will try to convert it to a Salt-form of DMT, dissolve this in water and perform electrolysis on this solution.

Are there any solvents (that dissolve freebase NN,DMT) that can be electrolysed?

What comes to my mind would have to involve a deeper understanding of how the brain functions. Then perhaps one could have a machine which would stimulate electrical brain waves in new and unused areas of the brain. It could also stimulate already used areas to a greater level, sort of like a mental workout once every so often as needed. Matrix style.

I don't know about scientifically proven, but for anyone who has worked the night shift for a long period of time, you know it is. I would find it really hard to go to sleep after work in the mornings, no matter how much I slept the previous day. I had to cover my window with a heavy blanket. And after a while, you start to get irritable and depressed. When I worked that night shift was when I got addicted to ecstasy as well. Humans seem to really need sunlight, like a lot of living things.

Maybe the connection lightlevels have on serotonin & melatonin production/inhibition has something to do with the Dreammachine's effect.
The dreammachine gives your eyes light and dark in very rapid succession; So after a significant exposure to the dreammachine: would one's brain be stimulated to increase serotonin levels or Melatonin levels? The dreammachine( or stroboscope) kind of feeds our physicological melatonin/seratonin system a dilemma; Is it light? Is it dark? is it night? is it day? Do we need to increase Serotonin or Melatonin?
The strange thing is that the closed eye visions only occur if the Dreamachine releases between 8 and 13 light pulses per second. Running the dreamachine at a lower of faster pace will NOT create this visual henomenon. So the timing oughta be just right.

This may be where the visions induced by the dreammachine come from.
I wonder how the dreammachine would effect sleep and dreams if it were left on all night next to one's bed while sleeping.

Thank you so very much for the info... i just thought that we needed exposure to sunlight on a daily basis so that our body is able to produce vitamin D. I guess it seems to also affect our serotonin levels, how interesting.
